Status:Final delivery (配達完了) I'm rather excited about Monday :-) Ooh, something JDM coming your way? I’m going to guess that you filled up the package too... can’t wait for the unveiling next week! well, there are only two items. One is for future parts (so not really that interesting as such). The other is the 'exciting' one. Its going to need some work (but I like that!!) but I'm hoping that its rather special (in a not grail like way). Apologies for the extravagent use of brackets - its the ex-programmer surfacing.

Sunday eBay browsing led to a neat little parts lot. Which if you look a little closer has a very promising looking 4006-7020 in it! Watch is definitely ticking and (fingers crossed) the date misalignment is just an early date change. Watch is definitely ticking based on the different photos, but not advertised as running. Will know more when it shows up next weekend

I picked this 4S15-6000 up in mid-December, and had it sent on to me last week. I bought it knowing that the dial feet have clearly broken off, and a few of the dial lume pips have fallen off. This kept the price nice and low (relatively). But, having now perfected my foot soldering techniques I'll have this looking better very soon. I was worried that if it had been dropped, maybe it wouldn't be running but initial observation says its running OK. I do like YJ.

My latest big YJ haul came in over the weekend and after paying Royal Mail's usual extortion charge this is what it contained: From left to right and top to bottom: 0843-8070 battery change and running, 0822-8020 battery change and running,(needs it's caseback pushing back on) 0903-8110 arrived running, 4623-8030 arrived running, 7546-8070 arrived running despite being described as a non-runner 😁 3862-7010 no life with a new battery but useful for spares, 0923-8010 bought for its original bracelet but I'll test it first before separating them. Not bad I think.

Got two on the way. Looks like Seiko did make a Blue dialed version of the 821x reference. The next is what I'm hoping is a 821x. The dial and hands are Patel Specials, the case-back is from a different watch, the unsinged bracelet is close but no cigar, and while the endlinks are close I'm hoping they are wrong too, increasing the odds that its at least a 821x case. Oh and I felt generous and paid an extra $5 for it. I'd messaged the seller what I thought was wrong, since he had such a high BIN w/make an offer. I figured give him a heads up before he sees my offer. He messaged back saying he didn't know and agreed with what I saw so he told me what he'd take, I tossed the extra since he seems to take the news well and what not. I think I will use the feiko at a base for a MOD which will start a trend as no one is really modding 7009's....yet

This 6139-6002 has just arrived home. It has no crown, but I managed to set the time using a crown from another watch. I've also checked that the indicator ring rotates smoothly and the day and date quick set works perfectly. The push buttons are stuck and do not work, I was expecting that because they seem to be too short, so I guess they are bent. Thankfully the crono is on and the minute counter is working fine. Is the dial and hands original? What do you think? Any recomendation where to buy the crown and buttons?

I’m really looking forward to seeing your rebuild of this one Simon, I think it’ll turn out peachy.
