Would somebody please sell me an all original and honest 6138 Panda!
C'mon, help a brother out!!!
I have had WTB posts all over the universe and viewed every eBay sale and on-line vintage watch shop forever. It's time to start begging.

Several of us have been looking for a time already. I know I have been watching closely for 4-5 months trying to find one.

we should do a silent auction for a cherry one. top guy wins. we need to find a willing seller with a good example first.

There have been a couple on eBay the last couple of weeks - both of which (to my still untrained eye) looked pretty good and original (dial and hands)
They both went for more than I wanted to pay and were subject to the last few seconds snipe fest

I count 13 that have sold in the last 60 days or so on Ebay.....some were original(or claimed to be) and some weren't.
The prices were all over the place.

Hasn't been anything on eBay. May have been a bunch sold but none I would buy.

I completely understand the need to have one. ... I also completely understand the wish not to part with one It took me ages to get one (in good condition), and even though it was missing the bracelet it was more expensive than I thought it would be... I passed on some good ones on eBay (or bet too low) and then I realized that I could either wait forever or buy one at the going rate I rationalized it with some very good buys I made earlier...

Jeeezus! These things are selling for pretty good money nowadays! When I bought my last one a few years ago $250 was pretty much the ceiling.
Now it ain't even the FLOOR!

Well, whatever you do - don't buy the latest POS from our favorite butcher, beejoo. Gold panda dial and hands in a stainless case, fitted with a non-fitting bracelet. No mention of the fact that this watch is cobbled together...

the nice thing about coming into a passion for watches through the Swiss and then having an epiphany about Seiko - is that you feel like everything is so inexpensive!!!
I still can't get my mind around the fact that a dead mint 6139, the first chrono ever and one capable of very accurate timekeeping, can be had for say $350. Blows my mind.

I'd stay away from ebay if possible. There's so much unoriginal junk on there now it's hard to know what you're getting. I'm never the lucky kind some but I did get this mint one from forum member couple months ago and I couldn't be happier. Almost didn't get it because was making deal while in mountains with no cell coverage. Its absolutely mint, runs perfectly, and reasonably priced. ***cant upload pic on tapatalk. Pic will follow in next post if possible.
