Some more 7A love for me. Have a great day guys. Bank holiday in the UK, not that it makes all that much difference to a lot of people.

Welcome aboard Jen! You’ll soon have a few more than two if you hang around here, and probably a collection of tools as well. It’s great!

We have a wealth of information in the form of casing guides available across some of the members on this forum, and on the occasions I’ve asked for assistance it’s always been willingly provided. We could make up a list of the different guides people have and if someone needs something that isn’t in the public domain then they could ask he owner of the guide to dig it out and provide the information. Nick, if you build it they will come! Maybe you should start the thread in the benefactors forum mate? I have a few and happy to chip in.

Here’s an idea. Perhaps if people are happy to, we could make up a list of the different guides people have and if someone needs something that isn’t in the public domain then they could ask he owner of the guide to dig it out and provide the information. Yes, that could be onerous, but if we put the list in the benefactor section then that would reduce frivolous requests, because I assume most benefactors have the knowledge to find public domain information themselves. That’s a good idea tritto.

Welcome to the Sushi Bar! As leffe said, let's see what you got. And who doesn't love an orange dial?

One data item I deliberately excluded was purchase price, for two reasons. Firstly, I don’t know what a lot of the pieces in my collection cost me, as I can’t remember. And secondly, I don’t think I want to know what its all cost me... And thirdly, well it has to do with the wife opening the spreadsheet...................... In which case best have two columns: What I paid for it; & Current value. I suspect for a lot of you that will make for some mighty good reading.

Yes, we have all been there! Adrian's video which cobrajet25 has linked above is a life saver, watch it a couple of times, then when you attempt one have the video paused and ready on the right bits so you can glance at it again. They're not that bad if you follow his method.

I have been looking for an online catalogue system to do this very job Nick, not found one that ticks all the boxes yet. I’d want it pc and phone and tablet friendly of course. Likewise Phil, but all the database-style ones I came across a) cost money and b) seemed to be ‘hosted’ somewhere. This is just a plain old Excel spreadsheet saved in my OneDrive, so I can access from PC or my iPad. Maybe I'll invent one and make millions. I hereby promise you that if I make more than £10m in pure profit I will personally buy you a second hand Seiko 5 of my choosing from Indian ebay. 7dfe79adc2f0

The pictures were the hardest bit to do - finding them firstly, and then sizing them all. From memory you can add pics to an excel using a technique so they automatically resize to the cell size. I know I’ve done it before but I can’t remember how. Google would be your friend here.

I’d like to know how to reverse it! (I know, you can’t). But it always makes me smile that on my Seiko’s I feel it’s spoiled the dial, in Omega circles it adds multiples to the price and they call it Tropical...!

Arnie for a trip to Waitrose. Only needed a few bits but wine and gin were at critical levels and needed urgent topping up.

Hey all, Thinking of organising a zoom chat for anyone that's interested over the weekend at some point, maybe on Saturday night UK time so it would be Saturday daytime US and Sunday am down under? I think (but I haven't checked) US is 7/8 hours behind and Oz 11 ahead of BST (which is GMT+1 of course). The idea is just spend half an hour to an hour talking shit about watches, maybe doing a live WRUW, and I will then give a two hour lecture on the correct application of lubrication to escape wheel pivots. Well, maybe not the last bit...
If anyone is up for it respond to the thread with any thoughts you may have and if this is a goer I will pm out the meeting invites. And I know some people say zoom isn't properly secure but I spend about 30% of my time on it these days so what can you do? If anyone hacks into our meeting they'll soon get bored and move on!
Pip
Mods: I put this in Jap section as I think more people may see it; if that's a prob please feel free to move it.
