Hi all,
I am making my first trip to Japan next month and wanted to do a little watch shopping/browsing. I will be in both Tokyo and Kyoto.
I was hoping this great community might have some suggestions on good shops to look for vintage Seiko's, or vintage watches in general.
Thanks so much
Patrick

Hello Patrick, you should search for posts by Akable (Anthony) who regularly writes about his visits to Japan and to various shops and markets in Tokyo.
Regards,
Ross

Prepare to be stunned by the asking prices, visit the markets on the weekends and you may get lucky. I found the arcade (all three levels) opposite the Nakano station to be well worth a look, although it does have strange opening hours, I picked up a nice SBDC033 there for a lot less than retail.

Cool. This thread was really helpful.
Is there a similar thread or discussion on how to sell or trade-in a watch while in Japan?

You just walk into the shop and ask if they want to buy your watch.

You just walk into the shop and ask if they want to buy your watch. Yep that just about sums it up, they are always looking for a bargain but don't expect them to pay you retail or what goes on the Bay
