They’re meant to be under embargo until 14th of February, so no official information until then. They’ll become available at the beginning of March in Europe, and at the end of March in some other regions of the world such as some countries in South-East Asia.

Seiko SBDC101
Looks a bit like the SBDC027 LE, only for the SPB051.

Still prefer vintage. And to me the Presage logo looks woefully out of place . . . and completely unnecessary.

I wonder when blue dialled SARX081 is going to be formally announced? That’s the one I’m lusting after. I was hoping that Mrs Leffe would have an opportunity to have a look at one of these in the flesh next month but it seems likely her trip to Hong Kong will be cancelled due to coronavirus

The point is - it’s a bloody good looking watch!Agree with you on that Nick but it's not really a re-issue of the wonderful one button chrono from '64. Homage perhaps? From the SEIKO website - The Crown Chronograph, Japan’s first wristwatch with a stopwatch function, was developed in 1964 for the first international sports event held in Japan. Presage, which has inherited Seiko’s watchmaking tradition, will release a limited-edition model that pays homage to the design of the Crown Chronograph. In acknowledgment of the year of the Crown Chronograph’s release, 1964, the number of watches will be limited to 1964 units.
The design of the 1964 Crown Chronograph has been reproduced as faithfully as possible. The clearly defined Arabic numerals applied to the narrow bezel and the fine minute gradations highlighted on the dial, has been reproduced throughout. The case has an inwardly tilted shape so that it rests securely on the wrist, which increases stability.
So, homage it is.

In contrast, the European Flagship London boutique didn’t have any information on whether they would even be receiving any, and no idea on pricing...

In contrast, the European Flagship London boutique didn’t have any information on whether they would even be receiving any, and no idea on pricing... I have heard that they will become available beginning on 21st February in some markets, from 1st March in Spain, and towards the end of March in some South-East Asian countries. I saw in this WatchPro article about the cancellation of the Grand Seiko Summit in Tokyo meant for early March due to the coronavirus out-break: www.watchpro.com/breaking-news-coronavirus-fells-another-global-watch-event/that the Knightsbridge Boutique is going to be re-branded from a SEIKO to a Grand Seiko Boutique sometime in March (I don't know exactly when). I assume that means that they might probably stop selling any SEIKO-branded watches, and only sell Grand Seikos instead, though that is only an assumption on my part, which might be erroneous. If my supposition is the case, then that would not give them much time to sell these after getting them in stock, before switching to being a Grand Seiko Boutique, so it might not be worth the trouble for them.

Interestingly, they answered the phone as ‘Grand Seiko Boutique.’ For a moment I thought I’d mistakenly phoned Grand Seiko Burlington Arcade...
