Moments before I got the WristSushi World Time 2023 Tour box all packed up and moving along the way I grabbed this quick photo next to my personal 6117-6409 from Feb 1971. The cushion case is on an OEM proper bracelet too.

I am here because of a 6117-6409 just like your white dial version there. My dad wore that watch around when I was born, and then much later in life gifted it to me. A few years later and I am happy to have less than 200 seikos (so far).... and 50+ of those are World Timers... HiBeat - PM me the tracking info, and when you ship it and I will post an updated schedule!

NEWS FLASH!!!!! The World Traveler has arrived in scenic "Upstate NY". Actually, 20 miles north of the city! LOL . . . . that is "upstate" to everyone in the city! The watch is a nice little piece! "Little" being the key word. At least to me and my ham hock sized appendage! I'm SO used to bigger watches that this one seems WAY smaller (IMHO) than anything else I own. Watch started right up with a few shakes and felt good on the wrist. It will be taking a voyage into the city tomorrow to visit the hallowed halls of my employer . . . a University in the City of New York. Thanks to Jon for shipping it here. My dog Bo seems uninterested in the WT. Must have been something moving somewhere! LOL!!!! The WT did get out a bit into the quiet and almost scenic suburban town outside NYC. Bo did enjoy the walk but didn't comment on the WT. And PLEASE do not start me on how horrible the streets are . . . if you knew my taxes, you'd understand!

69ChevelleSS - is that a bike lane they started to think about painting on the road there Or perhaps a line indicating what is the property owners problem vs the city's? Glad it made it to you and excited follow you around NY for a little while

Round these parts if you want federal funding to repave your road you have to install a bike lane.
Street only wide enough for 2 cars?
No problem shrink the car lanes to fit the bike lane that noone uses
WT Round 1
That being said: SHOW US THE HOOD

All over the northeast our old gas mains are getting replaced. That's a good thing. But then the utility company doesn't come 'round here no mo'. We can wait over a year for them to come out and do the full paving repair. The towns won't do it 'cause the gas company is responsible and they don't push them because, well, it ain't their street.

Very cool. The Avantis were way ahead of their time and now VERY collectible. Things should be pretty quiet here as I'm working from home for the rest of the week. It should be a pretty boring weekend also but we are going to Boston for Easter weekend so if the group agrees, I should be able to take it for a road trip. That would preclude me shipping it until Monday or Tuesday of the following week which would be beyond the scheduled time for it to move on.

Whatever you can do will be awesome. If you can do some of the Freedom Trail, that would be epic. But again, anything in Boston would be very cool indeed!

Somehow, I don't see my daughter as being a Freedom Trail / history kinda gal. I'm not involved in the planning stage of the trip (I just drive when and where I'm told to) but I think it may be more about the restaurants with the sight seeing in between. She really likes all the different cuisines in Boston and wants to have us try some of the variety.

Just a quick update for those here besides Dan and David.
The WT2 is on it's way to California. I have a number of photos to post to detail the trip it made to Boston.
I'll get that posted here as soon as I have a moment to breathe. Catching up at work from a few days off and a system migration that left me unable to access data I need to do my job!
Patience please.

OK . . . . so here goes. Got to Boston on Friday. Met up with our daughter and she took us to Newberry Street for lunch and stroll down the shopping area. Nothing exciting . . . just a restaurant. Strolling down Newberry Street Hope those random women don't mind! Such beautiful architecture. Stopped for a bit of gelato (small size of course) . . . . all that walking made us hungry. Boston Public Library. Another beautiful old building. After lots of walking an some shopping by the girls (OK . . . . I did stop at the Grand Seiko store but he wouldn't let me take pics but I did get his card and put it in the box) we made it back to the hotel. After a shower and a change of clothes, it was off to the North End for a fabulous Italian dinner. After a bit more walking it was time to stop for dessert at a famous bakery that specializes in canolis. My wife LOVES a good canoli! But boy was the line long. It moved fast though. After dessert we went to a comedy show and of course I had to have a beer. After the comedy show it was back to the hotel to crash! It was a LONG day but we had a great time. More to come as time permits but wanted to at least get Friday posted!

Day 2. We decided to head down to the harbor on Saturday. Did a whole lot of walking around. Stopped for coffee and then down to the water for a long stroll. After a bit more walking around, we stopped for lunch at a place called Row 34. Had some delicious lobster rolls and some KILLER New England clam chowder. After lunch, we went back to the hotel for a nap and reconvened a bit later for a bite at my daughter's apartment. I was too full so passed and it was our daughter's birthday and she had plans. Wife and I went back to the hotel and went to the bar for a drink. Weird thing happened on the way back to the hotel. As we were walking down the street, I noticed what was obviously a tour bus. A quick google search let me know whose tour bus it was! Many here know that I'm a long time metal head. Any guesses as to who the band was? Don't bother! It was an obscure band from the NWOBHM (google it if you don't know) by the name of Satan. NO, they are not demonic music. Choice of band name was a marketing thing. You know . . . any press is good press. The band plays aggressive power metal with great energy and pace. I actually bought their first album on vinyl back in the early '80s. Always liked the band and was kinda bummed because I'd never seen them play in the US an here I am, out of town and one of the bands I'd have love to have seen is playing in a tiny club. I mean, figure the odds of me being in that place at that time? Well, the wife and I went back to the hotel and at about 9:15, the wife says . . . "go to the show". Well, I did some internet research and found a page that said they were playing 2nd in a 3 band lineup. At that point, I figured I missed them so finished a quick bite and drinks and went to bed. NOT the end of the story. My wife wakes me up and tells me that there is an emergency at our daughter's apartment. Of course, I got out of bed and walked to her place. Handled the emergency and left to go back to the hotel at around 12:30 or 1:00AM. I figured I'd walk past the club to see if the bus was still there. Sure enough it was and it just so happens that as I was walking past the bus two guys get off. I stopped and asked them "hey man . . . . did Satan really play here tonight"? I couldn't believe it when one of them said in a heavy English accent . . . . "we sure did mate . . . . it was an excellent show"! It turned out the bassist and one guitarist were coming out to smoke an English cig. Ended up having a cool chat with them and they were really cool chaps. So there ends day 2 in Boston.
