Make a reply with the words 'tie break' at midnight. The one closer to midnight wins. Posting before midnight disqualifies.

Different time zones...
Or do you mean local time?

This tie-breaker is in danger of becoming more complicated than the challenges in the contest

Good lord. I take time off to eat popcorn and watch Russia fall into civil war and discover there's a whole page of suggestions to catch up on when I log back in here.
I'm happy with any form of tie breaker - I just want to win.
Rock-Paper-Scissors and a screen grab might end up being too complicated.
I had wondered about having trilo and I be tasked with doing a final challenge from the challenge today - we should each have at least five left that we didn't complete. Since trilo is traveling sans watches, I'm leaning in favor of this one.
Since that might not be quite sporting enough, I am willing to do a coin flip if the grand poobah is willing to risk damaging one of his Franklins.
I suggest we try to complete today (or tomorrow since it's already 6:30PM for trilo).

All though it's a serious matter, I have to say that this has been the most enetertaining midsummer I have ever had! Related to 10th anniversary contest: Coin flip it is!

Heads or tails is an easy option that can be administered by cdgod and no tie breakers…
But what if the coin bounces?
Or rolls.
Or it doesn't rotate in a gyrational matter in the air?
Or do you catch it and flip it over?
You don't want to drop coins cuz if you get rim nicks the value drop substantially.
And then I'd have to make a video to prove the tie breaker was on the up and up.
Well maybe I will have to make a video.
How about predicting a score of a random sporting event? Pretty fair, can't be messed with, easily checked. Could be baseball- combined # runs between Yankees and Rangers on Sunday 25th Rob

Since trilo is down with a coin toss, assuming the grand master is down too, that sounds good. Since only one person needs to play, I give trilo the call on the flip. Now - an alternative suggestion: If trilo is in the contest to win, then the coin-flip tie-breaker is probably the fastest way to finish this off. However, if he's primarily in for the prize, if he concedes I would be fine with giving him first choice and I would take second choice. Not sure if this works, given the rules of the challenge, but putting it out there. What say you trilo - do you care more about the honor of becoming the Wrist Sushi 10th Anniversary Contest winner, or do you have your eye on a particular prize and are willing to accept First Loser without a fight?

Uhmmm, while I like the idea of a second and third place, this time around it was you either win, or you're with the (rest of us) losers in the raffle. Someone call HEADS or TAILS - and let's see one of those $.50 Kennedy's tossed in the air.

Oh ya, just saw that - nice! Taking side bets on the coin Tyrone Jenkins uses, whether he lets it hit the ground, and if so, what type of ground?

Well I guess the tie breaker is planned to be a coin flip on Monday at work.
With video verification (unless it is too busy or the guy to the left doesn't want to play along again this time)
No catching the coin in your hand and turning the coin over once it lands
No minimum number of rotations in the air.
No minimum height of toss / flip as required in an NBA tip off.
Where and how it lands when it comes back to Earth and settles is how it will be called.

I'll be very curious to see what special coin our Grand Mufti will pull from his collection.

And for those that READ the original rules which have been the same for 7 YEARS and DID NOT ask questions in the CORRECT THREAD there will only be 1 GRAND PRIZE WINNER from this part of the contest.
Everyone else will be sitting in the back of the bus with the rest of the poor folks in the raffle.
And if you have any questions go back and reads the RAFFLE RULES and ask any questions in the CORRECT THREAD before the raffle draw.

I had the perfect coin lined up but I couldn't find it.
It was a 1964 silver Kennedy half dollar with 2 obverses
So for the sake of clarity depending on the coin chosen these are the obverses, or as commoners call it, heads.
And here are the reverses, or as commoners call it, tails.

But what if the coins lands on it's edge and it is another tie and we have to round 3?

If that happens than trilo and I will choose a prize that we'll share between ourselves. Half the year it will live in Finland and half the year in the USA. Or maybe we'll ship it back and forth every two months, like some poor little tyke whose parents have divorced. We could create our own World Traveler thread for it.
