For me this is the bare minimum through the week, it pays to have work trousers lol. I obviously have a van full of tools being a tradesmen but these are my bits I cannot be without On Weekends I carry my Swiss Army knife, small AAA flashlight and pen everywhere! Anyone else got any bits they can’t leave the house without?

Every, every, every day (including ones that end in Y or come on the 29th in a 28 day month). I'm either wearing TruSpec 24/7 pants or shorts for which there is a comfortable place for all of this.
Keys with: Uncle Bill's Sliver Gripper tweezers Snap-On 13mm / flat blade keyring tool (useless thing I can't seem to be without) Emisar D4V2 torch USB drive (I don't cloud store anything)
Peeps eyeglass cleaner Victorinox Cybertool 34 pocketknife Sharpie marker
Microtech Siphon Mk2 pen Hand sanitizer (used for many more things than just cleaning hands) Lip balm specifically in a squeeze tube (also used for things other than lips, mostly machines needing emergency help) Things I want to add but are somehow problematic to me in one way or another:
Some way to start a fire (butane lighter) WD-40 duct tape

In the UK carrying or having a knife anywhere near in a public place unless for work purpose is classed as ‘going with intent’

In the UK carrying or having a knife anywhere near in a public place is classed as ‘going with intent’ I’m in the Uk, that only applies to locking blades over 3” i believe, that’s why I carry a non locking SAK on the weekend. You can carry whatever knife you like at work as it’s a tool. Im 35 now, I don’t think I’ve been stopped and searched since I was about 15, but I’m not exactly menacing looking haha

Plenty of space over here for you and your pocket knife @fergus Then you could stop fiddling with those door stop alarms and bring your B25 home.
Its much louder and doesn't require a mains adapter

It did trip me out to realize that UK knife laws were so strict. Used to be, whenever I traveled anywhere outside the US, nearly the first thing I'd do upon arriving would be to stop by a hardware store and pick up a pocket knife. In Europe, generally an Opinel. Just felt naked without one. Turned out that that was not so easy to do in the UK.
The idea that a police officer can stop you and frisk you on the street just because you look funny? That is horrible! Thought some in NYC would argue, for the most part in the USA that's a no-go (outside of airports, train stations, subways, government buildings, sports stadiums, etc.).
So as you may have guessed, my daily carry consists of a pocket knife, typically a Benchmade folder, which is most often used to open the daily packages from Amazon. And that's it.
I don't have any other item that is always in my pockets, at least until I head out the door and need my wallet and the key for my vehicle. 90% of the time my phone will go with me, but since 80% of the time my trips are to the forest to walk with my guys, it's 50/50 whether the phone comes with or stays in the vehicle when I get there - I despise being called when I'm out in the forest.

victor. Don't buy one of Opinels latest offerings. I have a 20+ year old whose blade has worn down about 40% so I bought the same model to use alongside it. Both are kept in my shed and the old knifes carbon steel blade does not rust yet the new knife does not stop rusting.

For most things in the Uk, you don’t really need any bigger than a box cutter to be honest!

Keys, wallet, phone, reading glasses… always had a pocket knife but never needed to carry it every day (although I do have one in my drawer at work too).

I actually do use mine almost every day, though most often for opening boxes, and in the growing season, for trimming plants. My grandfather gave me a buck knife when I was six or seven (he cut the tips off so I wouldn't poke myself) and the habit of always carrying one has stuck with me.
A few years back I did a little training with a blacksmith and forged my own, but I don't carry that one as I have little need for a sheath knife most of the time.
Reading glasses are salted around the house - for years I swiped my wife's readers when I couldn't read fine print, before finally admitting I needed them and buying some of my own. Paralleled my finally getting glasses for distance several decades back, when I smacked my boat into a rock one evening - and promptly got refracted - wouldn't admit I needed glasses until I gouged that chunk out of the skeg and realized it could have been much worse.

I've carried that Victorinox Cybertool 34 for over 20 years myself. It's not the original and has been replaced twice. Once because I accidentally attempted to go through airport security with it and got sent back to the counter with it. They put it in a suit box and at the other end all I got was a crushed box torn wide open. The second one still hangs out as a spare with numerous wear problems making it a little too troublesome to use reliably and safely. This last one was new in 2018 and not a week later I ran over it with a forklift while moving my family, co-workers, and business from California to North Carolina. I was pretty upset about it, and figured I'd send it in to see if it could be fixed. Turns out it was, and even with my detailed recounting to their repairs department of what happened they fixed it at no charge other than return freight. It's a little pear shaped still but has been at my side for the last 6 years non stop. They have been used for everything and anything, and I really do use it every day. I think the funniest story I have for it was pulling my younger son's baby teeth out with it's pliers. He'd get a loose tooth and come to me asking for me to yank it so he could get the tooth fairy cash for it. I'd turn him away until it was bordering on becoming a kite on a string in his mouth and then pop it out for him. The other two siblings were horrified, but my Wife and I just laughed. It was far better than the other two with their whining and carrying on about their super loose teeth and the discomfort it caused them.

I have had a pocket knife since grade school. Can't remember the last time I left the house without one, except flying. Like victor said I feel a bit under dressed without one and will buy when I get to my destination, when I'm just doing carry-on which is 90% of my travel. I leave one in the desk drawer of a coworker in another plant in PA so I don't have to keep buying when I travel there. I flew to Austin to pick up a car I bought, went to a little shop and grabbed one, then the car wasn't ready and I had them send it on with the car since they ended up shipping it for me...If I remove the total of 7009's in my collection I might have more pocket knives than watches. My FIL mentioned once that he thought he'd carry a pocket knife for a while, when he was younger, and after a few months realized he never used it...I said I bet I use mine at least once a day...and still do... This Spyderco my daughter bought me after the blue handled version I bought her I really liked. I removed the clip from it just never seem to use them anymore. Ended up retiring a SOG Twitch?? assisted opener that must have in my pocket for a decade...I gave her boyfriend a Twitch II when he said he didn't have a pocket knife. I don't know if he took it with to Australia when he went down to work for the next few months to a year. I'm thinking he didn't not knowing the laws and such, plus he wasn't in the habit... The Flash light (Torch for those on the other side of the pond) is from a now defuncted 4-sevens...2-AA batteries that I load with rechargeables. I love the twist to operate and have two more of these one NIB as a back up...In my plant the dust kills any clicky I have or the other guys have every used...I took off the belt/pocket clip and wrapped it rubber and electrical tape so I can use it hands free. I think some one needs to have a silicone accessory for that purpose. A 1.0m blue black Zebra Sarasa Gel Roller Ball A 0.9mm Pental Twist Erase, sometimes swapped out for a Pental 209... Milton Pocket Blow gun (Don't tell osha, but never use a chip guard or regulate to 30psi or less, typical 90psi and up to 160 psi, thought I never seem to need to use it wide open...) Wallet is "ballistic nylon"? from TUMI that was another gift, I think for fathers day 15+ years ago just this last year has it started to show it's age...
