The slim 6309 7290 from my recent “What’s in the Mail” post has arrived. While I work out how to gently restore the original GL strap, I’ve slung it on an AM bracelet. It’s all original and a strong runner. September 1989 vintage. (Same month/year combo date that Robert Ballard found the Titanic wreck.1am on the 1st of September 1989 if you’re doing a Pub Quiz!)

Doh! 1985 not 1989! This model finished production around 1988 according to various sources.

Wearing my dad's old watch for the first time. My grandmother bought it for him in the 70s on a visit to Canada. He wore it daily for about 30 years. I think it needs a service. CARAVELLE is some sub brand of Bulova, right?

CARAVELLE is some sub brand of Bulova, right? That's right! Very cool tempelkim You know how much I like a watch with a story
Check it out, three yellows in a row, far-out man! Today for me is also a 'Whats in the mail' arrival as of last night. The Alba Alarm Chronograph Y950-505A is packed with handy features like a nearly useless pulsations and tachymeter track (the sweeper is not tied to a chrono), friction diving bezel that will probably stay put, an ana-digi display including a searchable monthly calendar still up to date here in 2024 all presented in unreadable micro-print! It's dated 2D so I'm thinking either 1992 or 2002 December manufacture?

I'm trying to remember if I have a yellow watch - I think maybe an Orient? Not wearing it today, so guess I'm not part of the cool kids club

No yellow here either. Just a 1978, Seiko A158-5059. This is the first watch that I restored (still looking for an original bracelet for it).
