Richard Dawkins The God Delusion Superb book. I've read all sides of the story including the bible, the quran and Richard Dawkins book The God Delusion and it's the only one that makes any sense to me. I've met him on two occasions. Smiles a lot and is funny which surprised me having watched a few of his documentaries but then I guess they are not meant to make you laugh. Nice guy.

Take a look at the Ben Stein documentary "Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed". It's on Netflix and youtube. The interview at the very end with Dawkins might make you re-think what Dawkins is peddling.

I never debate religion as I'd just upset believers. I just know Richard Dawkins book made total sense to me as a scientific type chap and if I am wrong I am going to burn in hell which is handy as I cannot stand heights or play the harp anyway. If I just say I have a sign on my front door that states: No junk mail No sales calls No holy joes Thankyou Then that should tell you everything you need to know about me and the subject of the cult of god. Tone Hey Tony, Don't get me wrong, I wasn't preaching . . . . just wanted to show you an alternate perspective on Dawkins. The documentary is not based on Christianity. There is a difference between "Intelligent Design Theory" and belief that God is the creator. The point of the documentary is to point out the intellectual dishonesty and bias in today's education system. Each of us is given free will and the right to exercise it. I respect that and have no problem with you making your choice as you see fit. If Dawkin's book makes good sense to you then "have at it mate"! If your goal is to make a scientific decision based on all the facts then wouldn't it make sense to have all the facts you can possibly get? Remember, humans once thought the world was flat and the center of the universe. More facts changed that thinking. If you ask me (an you probably wouldn't) all the non God based alternate belief systems such as Darwinism, atheism, gnosticism, scientism, etc. are all just religions by another name. They are belief systems and world views just like Christianty, Islam, Buddism and Judaism. I think we should either take this off line with PMs or just agree to disagree. I've got no hard feelings and you seem like a nice guy so why throw a wrench in the works?

I've got no hard feelings and you seem like a nice guy so why throw a wrench in the works? I had to watch that documentary for a composition class and it was interesting to see and hear the point of view that's the opposite of mine. My main gripe was that they tricked a bunch of people with the opposite opinion of them into interviews. Then they picked and chose what to put in the movie. It's just something I don't like that documentaries tend to do. I had the same reaction when I had to watch Bowling for Columbine in school and Michael Moore tricked Charlton Heston. But this is why I don't watch very many documentaries ^_^ To keep things on topic, though! I'm currently reading Hollow City, which is the sequel to Miss. Peregrine's School for Peculiar Children. I've been on a YA kick because grown up books got kind of boring to me. I also read The Maze Runner recently and it took way longer to get interesting than I thought it would.

Sam, are you like me and live in a second hand book shop ? I was supposed to be reading Val McDermid's "Blue Genes" as that was the next one on the alphabetical list. But then I realised it was book No. 5 in a series, so decided to read No. 1 I have No. 3 "Crack Down" Just need to find No. 2 " Kick Back" and No. 4 "Clean Break". Been scouring the charity shops but no luck yet.
