Ask Louis he dives and has a serious addiction to dive watches and aqualands. Louis is my good pal Longbike on this forum.

In fact I'm nearly wearing it every day again and am considering selling my entire watch collection and just going back to the g-shock. Sold, that's it, I'm selling my collection for a 1991 G-shock

Yeah but compass, barometer, light, storm alarm, sunset time, ........................... Love my Seikos but they usual get some bench time for the hunting and fishing. The OP didn't ask for a compass, barometer, light, storm alarm and sunset time...I think a nice automatic is something to behold on a quiet fishing day over a digital. Christopher Columbus didn't ask for North America, but he new he was looking for something. OP asked for good fishing watch. A good fishing watch has a barometer, period. I love the SKX, but it's a romantic choice not a practical one.

Go with the G-Shock and a good Casio. Other watch's are great but if you are not cautious they will get beat up. I have also used those G-Shocks and I would recommend them highly also.
Just ask .... Tony ( Cockroach ) on here about them he knows they are good. The cost for big time Diver watch is really not needed too, when these G-Shocks can do the same job and maybe better. Going Diving or just swimming , and you forgot to remove your watch, well these are for those times. Hey I have always had them and used them a lot for years too, can't beat them.
I will see if any Big Time diver watch can match what these G-Shocks got through, and also do not forget those good Casio ones also they can handle too. It is not the looks that performs, its the ..... " The Quality that was pout in designing and the Making of a watch that counts. Note: Style is nice ........ " But Durability is ........ " Where It Counts ". Yes I use ...." G-Shocks and Casio's " lots of times, and stand by them too. Hey they can stand what others can not and also most Military Guys I see here, that's what they all use too. I have talked to some especially ...... The Marines and Army guys and asked how they held up in the Desert and all over there they said ......... " TOP Shape these watch's ". Talked to Army Shooter ( Sniper) he said it was always on tip top time and did not miss for telling time. The Sniper told me he has a ...." Dozen " , of them at home. Aloha ....Louis / LongBike

Made fresh this morning. Lost if up a tree which took about 30 minutes to get back before this vid so decided on concrete based demo instead.
For the record I just checked at that video was attempt number 12 so I'd done that to the watch and worse 11 times before. I've also been doing this to the watch since it was about a year old just to show folk how tough these Casio G-Shock watches are. I'd never dream of knocking my 6105 about like this. I've also been on hundreds of dives down to about 170m with this watch.

And here i was thinking that you wore it because it was a tough watch, little did I know that you are just a slave to hipster watches worn by "movie stars", so sad

I'd never sell the watch. It has a slightly out of shape pusher and 1 broken screw that holds a cover on and that's after 24 years of abuse. It'll out live me I am sure.

Nope but it still keeps water out I'd never use this watch for diving now. I have another g-shock about 2 years newer than the bouncy one I use for diving that is in nearly as new condition. I also have 5 spare straps and case covers which I believe are worth a few quid on their own now. Once again not that I'd ever sell them.

Truth be told, we can buy these things new for a lot less than you would be asking for them Seriously though; I know where you are coming from. Some watches will never be sold from our collections.

The short of it is this watch was brought 25 years ago approximately as a work horse. I wore it every day up until last year when I discovered the Seiko illness apart from a short stint where it lived in the garden for a year. I think I paid $70 for it new but I'd need to check the receipt which I still have with the box in my attic. I didn't buy it as a collectors watch just as a dive and work watch which it's done me proud with. Great watches. If it does die I'll just cough up what ever it costs for a NOS or real tidy one as I know I'll get my moneys worth out of it The only reason I done the vid at the end of the day was to put my money where my mouth is. When someone asks about a dive watch and I give my advice I am only prepared to talk about what I know and a watch I've lived a 1/4 of a century with is a prime candidate for that slot. For the record I also have a Casio calculator that my mother gave me for my first day at senior school in 1979 that still works. I thought it was solar powered as we have never changed the batterys on that but nope battery only and still has the original ones installed

I wore it for over 5 years until the strap disintegrated. The calculator buttons had also worn down so that I could only make them work with a pointed device. It still worked fine when I put it in a drwer or wherever it disappeared to. Never replace the battery and it's probably still running in some old cast off bedroom furniture somewhere
