this is a bit rare G called the Fisherman from the 90s which gave tide and moon phase...but there are hoards of Gs fitting your needs for way under $800.00. Gs are all quartz though. The ultimate G would be a Frogman version which is titanium case to resist corrosion, but these sell from old ones at $300 to newer versions fetching $400 to 600.00!!! The Mudman series is very good too, cheap and rugged, having the pushers covered with a rubber material to keep gunk out. All Gs are inhouse rated at 200m (believe it or not!) but the Frogman is the only G rated at ISO200m. Some guys would go scuba diving and have no water ingress! There is an original series of Gs called the Master of Gs. I like these since they are originally large in size and collectible. All the newer fancy Gs have gained in price - many over $300. I do like the Gs and have noticed a trend toward analog watches in some later models which are very attractive. It is amazing the functionality they pack into those watches! I have certainly enjoyed all the input on this.

The OP didn't ask for a compass, barometer, light, storm alarm and sunset time...I think a nice automatic is something to behold on a quiet fishing day over a digital. Christopher Columbus didn't ask for North America, but he new he was looking for something. OP asked for good fishing watch. A good fishing watch has a barometer, period. I love the SKX, but it's a romantic choice not a practical one. Apples and oranges.

Here is Casio PRG80 titanium all black older model. Not 200m rating but sufficient for your needs as a beater. Used ones are under $300. Has multifunctions of course... dial 3 by blingmeister, on Flickr
