As you guys know, I'm a cheap bastard and like my watches with a bit of grunge and DNA, in my mind it guarantees originality. I'm not as good at spotting aftermarket parts on those, as I always assumed they were out of my price range in decent condition. 6309, 6139, yes. 6105...so so. Think this one is all original. Would welcome any input. Rob It's on the way, so the question is a bit late. Rob, it is lovely. I watch these sell other than bid as the prices are silly, and so I just checked this one. Worth every penny, really nice.

This is my most expensive watch, by far. thanks for your input, Guy, I highly value your opinion. Rob

... Rob It's on the way, so the question is a bit late. Incredibly lovely original dial and hands. And a "Short Seconds Hand" to boot.
Wish mine had such a nice dial.
Congrats!

George Clarkson alerted me to this. Got it for only €30. May only need a service. We'll see when it gets to him.

After two years without one of these, I caved and picked up another one. This looks better than the one I had before, and has the monocoque case with the King Seiko medallion whereas my previous one was the later screw down case back.

Picked this up to hopefully fix up an identical one that belongs to my brother-in-law. Seller described it as in working order, which I hope is true. All I need (I think) is the upper balance jewel! I’m aiming to get it fixed up in time for his 50th later this month.

Canada Post tells me I've got something coming from Germany and the delivery date will be by the end of Thursday Oct 17. Hmm, I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop vis a vis duties....

Ha! That Speidel will come off immediately. Last time, I managed to piece together a decent bracelet from a Lord Matic with similar end-links. Hopefully I can do that again.

Flawless NOS A639-5009 from 1981. Fresh battery and it lit right up like the day it was born. It still had the original tags on it. The light works. It beeps on the hour. All for the whopping price of...$27.00

I think it would have originally come on leather. An that would look awesome.

I was not in the market but I couldn’t pass this 6105-8119 up. I negotiated a little with the seller and then got $100 eBay bucks on top of it. I came into some money today at my job. I cashed in 12 days of unused vacation. So what better way to blow part of it 😆 All original never serviced crown lock still functioning. Dates to 1975 if I remember. That is not a stain between 8 and 9 o’clock but dirt on the crystal. I’m going to clean everything and polish the original crystal best it can be. Maintain the originality. I’ll put an uncle Seiko waffle on it. I was jealous of Rob’s 😆 Seller pic. I anticipate it to look better in person.

Did anyone here snag that black 6139-6010 proof/proof on bracelet? I was so close to buying it out of sheer impulse... Hope it went to a good home Also did actually snag this guy! Been on the lookout for a nice blue proof/proof with 2 piece seconds hand for a couple months now, and this guy was it (Even came with a decent length bracelet suntzu *cough*)

That's a beauty. My blue Proof/Resist is with Guy right now getting a makeover. That was only $85 no bracelet.
And what's with you and these f*cking bracelets! Sell one dammit

If I'm reading mine correctly, after watching a Spence Klein video, I believe it was Seiko serviced in 1978?? His had a 6 as the first number and he said it was serviced in 1976. So I would assume my 8 means 1978 since it was built in 1975. Maybe 1988?

Nice one.
These 601x with bracelets seem to be everywhere now.
Maybe people are realising the 601x are desirable, I rarely seen a blue one a year or two back but look at now. Price have at least doubled on these.
Before the 601x were used to harvest their chronograph wheels for Pogues. 😭

Just as I hoped, much nicer in person. I made a mistake in my original post. It has been serviced once. Locking crown works. Here are some closeups. That looks in great condition.
