Just as I hoped, much nicer in person. I made a mistake in my original post. It has been serviced once. Locking crown works. Here are some closeups. That looks in great condition. Thank you. I didn't want to let this one go. They're increasing in value and I've always wanted one in this virgin condition in perfect working order. The price was right considering what they're going for not to mention I got $100 eBay bucks. I just cleaned off some grime with alcohol, paper towel and toothpick, and it looks even nicer. I have a rarer early 1970 Proof/Proof with this clean dial but badly molded indices that I am getting redone. But now I have a clean original to go with that one. I feel satisfied. Thankfully I don't have a woman like my ex yapping in my ear about spending money on watches
I look at it as a fun wearable way to diversify my investment portfolio.

So I blew the balance of my found money from cashing in the unused vacation time Pay down some debt? Nah. Invest it? Nah. A grail vintage Seiko? Yup!
First it was the so called Willard and now it's a 1976 Bullhead Speedtimer that outside of a scratched crystal is a gorgeous example. This has been at the top of my list for the longest time. I've viewed thousands of them in varying conditions and either they suck, or they're just okay and asking a fortune, or they're mint and expecting the moon.
The case on this is mint. Kanji day wheel. Everything works and keeping time. And, to boot? Original Speedtimer bracelet It was picked at an estate sale. I negotiated a $135.00 off the asking price.
Seller pics.
Look at this case! Other side is equally nice

That's a very nice pair you've picked up suntzu. This one kicked around on Gumtree for a week or so. Listed as "runs, but needs a battery". The seller was asking for offers so after I let it sit for a week I made an optimistic offer on the weekend. The seller accepted and it's on its way. 6118-8000, if I'm not mistaken.

I can’t resist an old book, and when I can pick up two old movements from the same person and the whole lot for less than a tenner who’s to argue?

Kind of rare to see a dive bezel on a 7009 reference. I think there is only this reference 8560 and 8570 that have them. The 8560 seems to have a 12 sided bezel? Both marked with Sports dials. The bezel is off another watch, for sure, based on the few example I've seen and how poor the font printing is. The dial is spot on and so are the hands though they haven't aged to the same patina....Bracelet looks correct too which is always a bonus....I have been searching for one for some time and figured even with the off bezel I'd have "an example". I missed a better example several months ago out of Spain and so I bid higher than I should have here, but again these just don't come up in any condition for a reasonable price. Coming from the Philippines fingers crossed. sellers pic.

Arrived in the mail in virgin condition. Everything is perfect including case back. I don’t think it’s ever been opened. Dial is super clean. Just needs a crystal replacement, gaskets replaced and ultrasonic cleaning of case and bracelet. maybe hand polish the bright work on case. I’m not machine polishing anything.
I wouldn't do anything to that one other than gaskets and a movement service.

I will clean the crud off the case and bracelet. I'm not polishing anything. And a new crystal and save the old one.

(They don't seem to age very well on this watch, I've only found scratched examples online. Looks a bit like the PO inlay, maybe you can manufacture something out of an AM bezel insert...)

I have been looking for one of these for quite a while. The black (or is it blue) dial is not often seen. Leopard Super Beat 10.

I won't know if it turns until it arrives...My guess is crazy glued on...Not sure what size bezel it even is. Your right about these not aging well. I've tried to look up the OEM number and have struck out using the Seiko website as well as Borels...

Coming...seiko 6128-0010 March 1970 proof/proof first month of production for all the 6138's line image sharingI love it when you go shopping! But doesn't the case code show this is Feb'70 not March'70 as you typed? Or am I being dim?
