Picked just now, this all original, unmolested Proof/Proof 6139-6010 complete with 2 part sweep and I believe (hope) frosted hands. Case is unpolished. Dates to March 1970. Probably not frosted hands
Going to pilfer all the hands, relume the two, clean the case and swap with my 6139-6010 black dial Bruce Lee SpeedTimer which currently has later hands, one piece sweep, and a slightly polished case. This way My Bruce Lee will now be all correct.
My Bruce Lee is so cool that it has the serif sub dial and TAD markings found on the VERY early 6139's It's currently out for service. I also just bought a 2 piece sweep hand from a fellow member here so I'll have two and decide which is nicer and keep the other for future use.
I'll pop the replaced later date Bruce Lee hands and slightly polished case onto this donor. This way I'll have another functioning 6139 and maybe sell it off to recoup my investment. Or, most likely keep for future use

Picked up this beefy NOS 20mm Stelux bracelet to go on my 6139 Helmet. It's such a tall case that it needs something substantial to support it. I'm not a fan of the original bracelet. This should fit the bill.

If someone i an idea if the dial was relume or not ? Thanks I'm far from an expert, but the 6:00 and 11:00 markers look a bit sloppy and not signs of a natural aging process. The other hour markers look quite nice.
Just my opinion. Otherwise it's a beautiful example! You can always have it relumed by a real expert if the consensus is that it isn't original and you're not happy with it.

Many thanks for your feedback, but I wasn't sure if it was original or relume but if it was I don't understand why he didn't change the crystal or polished it ?! So I have a small hope 😉🥂😃

Looks more authentic? Maybe the dial is not relumed! I don't know. Good luck with it. Even *if* relumed it's a great piece and you can always have it fixed.

If someone i an idea if the dial was relume or not ? Thanks That is a very nice watch. A very uncommon horseshoe-back. Pretty good lume really. It looks a bit fresh, without any signs of age, to be original, but they did a good job if it is a relume.

When you said " uncomun " could we estimate the production run for horseshoe For the year 67 ? Thanks Ross Based on a very rough numbers, I thought there may have been around 3000 Suwa Horseshoe casebacks made. The estimate is based on an assumption that the chance of the appearance of different 62MAS variations into the market is identical, and anchored by an assumption that there were 6000 pieces (based on serial numbers) of one of the population groups. I think there was a single case of a horseshoe caseback stamped for 1966, but ALL others are 1967.

I bought a custom leather rally watch strap on Etsy for $27.00 from a seller in Ukraine for my Jumbo 6138. So it went from Ukraine to NY City. I live in NJ. So you figure it would go from NY City to NJ, right? Nope. It went from Ukraine to NY City to Massachusetts to North Carolina to Newark, NJ to Kearny, NJ to my post office, then delivered today. Total travel time for a leather strap? 8 weeks.

Long story short they lost the package.

Paid only $162.00 for this 6139-6015 from 1972. I don't have one. Works. Clean dial and chapter ring. Pushers sticky. I have a crystal. I have a regular stainless 6139-60XX bezel, case, and pushers to mod it with. Should look fine. Then on to one of my rally bracelets, Uncle Seiko railroad or rally leather strap. Maybe down the line, re-plate the case and wear it on leather.

Looking back at my Ebay purchase history I haven't splurged and bought myself a new watch I wanted vs. coming across a really good deal on a watch (well the price on this one was too good to pass up) that I couldn't pass on.
I had been contemplating buying a nice watch watch after each raise and then the stimulus money coming and I kept telling myself every time I searched that I don't NEED another watch which is why I have been trying to wear the ones I already own and don't wear since I am not running a museum.
Got this one coming in the mail.
Looks pretty "minty" and comes with a spare movement and a watch winder as a bonus
