I shutter to think how much these ding dongs will over pay to get this one. I hate to say that I would even entertain spending 300.00 on one. The trouble is, not being a 6309 expert and seeing the prices decent examples of nearly anything goes for these days, when you said £300 my immediate reaction was ‘is that all?’ Now I’ve no idea if that’s a good price or not but it doesn’t sound that much.

Found this one on Craigslist last night, had to add it to the collection. Not exactly beautiful, but definitely worth the price of admission. I may replace the crystal, or just leave it as is.

Having read threads that spoke to arbor port wear, I was afraid to chase a 6309. A cleanish 6309-7290 (‘83 manufacture) showed up for about $120 and I figured the risk was worth the possible reward. I’m glad I took the chance because it runs far better than any modern Seiko I have or have had. imgur.com/gallery/MUQGS

For Myself the 6309-704X is The iconic Seiko Diver, I am always drawn back to this watch over any other. Pure Class and built like a tank, Not to mention very comfortable to wear. Servicing is a snap and some nice ones are still out there for decent cost. I usually wind up wearing a 6309 more than any other watch I own. What more is there to say..... Good to see you back and posting David!

Yeah baby! One of the best divers at any price. Forsaking a Rolex Sea-Dweller for my 6309 today. Very enjoyable piece.
