Some rubbish shots of my two elder statesmen . . . could anyone please confirm production dates according to the serial numbers for me ? I was under the impression the 6105 was from '68 and the Sportsmatic, forgotten entirely, oops. Is that a relume or is that stock? NICE look watch. Hey buddy, I hope the little princess and mum are both doing well . . . no man, all original, stock lume, my shitty, grainy photo doesn't do it the justice it deserves, I got it from Barry at a very fair price very early this year . . . to be honest Spence, it doesn't get the wrist action it should, it's the watch that makes a hypocrite out of me.

Nice watch, beautiful. Not a hypocrite at all - I love my 6105's and even if I wore them 24/7 I'd feel like they weren't getting enough wrist time. She's doing fine - gaining weight, keeping us awake. All the usual stuff. Thanks for asking!

So this will be my first reply I guess. I'm fairly new to the whole serious watch game. I have a handful of nice looking contemporary quartz Seikos, and two mechanical watches. The first is an Orient Excursionist, but the second watch is the reason I'm posting in this thread. I bought a 1965 Seiko 66-0100 (handwound) on ebay for $25. The watch ran, but the winding was so hard that I thought there was a serious issue with the watch. After coming into contact with him on r/Seiko, I sent the watch to Seikoholic so he could see what was wrong with it. After a new c.rystal, crown, and stem, he says it's ready to come back to me. I'll make a more legitimate thread about it when I get the watch back in my hands (and the fancy new strap I've ordered for it), but I couldn't resist putting one of the pictures he just sent me in this thread. Anyways, sorry for the long intro, but here it is:

It is one seriously elegant watch - what a beauty. Thanks to Jonathan Koch as well for his sleuthing and detective work on being able to source the crystal for this - this model isn't even in the catalogs. It's definitely real - the 66B movement is chugging along very nicely. Dial code matches the case back. The real deal.

This is my oldest watch. It is a bit rough but I am so impressed with it. The service history is unknown so as soon as I have the extra coin off to my watchmakers for a good scrub down.

While going through old newspaper ads to try and find my watch, I found an ad for the 1964 World Time that was previously posted: A 6105: Misc '60s watches:

My oldest watch is a Swiss Made Olma Incabloc - Sea Cup 17-Jewel this watch was handed down to me , it was purchased in the late 1950's & has been in storage since 1975 . I only just got it out of its 38 year's in storage & once I wound it up , it fired up immediately & keeps excellent time accuracy .

This is my oldest - Citizen's first wrist watch movement, dates from between 1931 and 1936. The movement is actually a Swiss kit, called the 'Premier'. Citizen later used better Swiss Mido movements before they started to make their own: Stephen

This Elgin from the early twentieth century is the oldest I own. It belonged to my great grandfather. Jack and crew at IWW serviced the movement for me. Myles

Omega from 1939... This was my grandfather's retirement watch. Is she running Pete? Just barely. The hairspring is a bit out of shape and on of the regulator pins has been broken off. It obviously keep lousy time. It will likely get a spa treatment one day(when I win the lottery) but until then, it just waits.
