Looks good. Once you pry that bezel off you'll be able to get all that dirt off. Rob Thanks. Luckily it's on the outside. Dial looks clean. We like dirty watches here as dirt and DNA is quite often the proof of authenticity! It's hard to fake honest build up (especially packed and caked greasy DNA gunk garnished with arm hair). In most cases fake turds are sold too clean and too pristine, and if they have fake patina, it's mostly on the dial and casing.

Is this the real deal and if so, would ypu have any idea on which watch it belongs to? Endlink reads 3303-Z•E EDIT: Found it (had no luck earlier). Still open: is the JAPAN on the clasp correct and on which was watch this belongs to? No expert here but the "JAPAN" portion screams Feiko to me. Just an opinion but I've never seen Seiko put that on a clasp. Anything is possible though! EDIT: Just did a search for the endlink #s and "bracelet. This is for sale on ebay:

I always suspect a fake when I see JAPAN on the clasp. I’ve never seen a case where it was legit. It’s possible there were some in a limited market on some corner of the planet but I doubt it. For the older bracelets, I often see what appear to be legit bracelets with fake clasps. I have one on its way to me in fact and I’ll be changing the clasp. That’s why I collect clasps for restoring bracelets.

Thanks for the input guys!
I have really no experience with modern Seikos, so it helps alot to have a second opinion!

Hi All I hope someone can help me with this Seiko. I cannot find any information about online, but it does not look like a fake? Thank you in advance Andy Fake Aestethics are off. Poor paint job on dial and crystal (gray edges) Dial edges are "empty" JAPAN MADE (should be smaller, in a different location and "Made in Japan". Painted dial markers Looks like a Casio case Few to start with. Most likely originates from India. EDIT: Japanese watches are quality watches through out. Some of their cheaper side and mass produceded aestethics aren't for everyone or very exciting, but are still atleast of good quality (no warped hande painted lines like that). It takes a while to grasp the aestethics behind Japanese watches, but while your knowledge increases, you can think it like this (I saw you are into swiss time pieces and Japanese are unknown territory for you): "would you buy a swiss watch that looked like this?" But no worries, most of us have been in this same situation (I certainly have)!

Hi All I hope someone can help me with this Seiko. I cannot find any information about online, but it does not look like a fake? Thank you in advance Andy Seiko and 5 are almost always at 12 o'clock, with few exceptions. Automatic is also rarely done in script would also be centered above the 6 marker. When trilo say the "Japan Made" should be "made in Japan" it should also be accompanied with the movement number and dial code. Again painted more out of sight in the lower edge of the dial below the hour/minute track. Again almost always the hour markers are applied not painted.

JAPAN MADE is always fake. Not that this one needs to have that for us to know it’s fake as it is obviously done very poorly. This case was designed for a different dial arrangement. We are not supposed to see the case metal on the corners below the crystal. That would be covered by a dial frame. The dial would have a smaller pattern to fit inside the opening.

I'd say it looks all correct, but the over all lume discoloration makes the watch look in worse shape, cosmetically, than it actually is.

Here's a puzzling one that popped up on the Goodwill auction site. Case, caseback and crown seem correct. Obviously missing a bezel. But the dial is clearly fake, right? Even through the damaged crystal, you can clearly see italicized "DiaShock" text and incorrect font used on the "Water Proof" text. Anyone ever seen a fake 62MAS dial like this?

I'm no expert, but it also looks like it has had a bad lume job done to it at some point.

Not many fake R dials but this looks to be fake. For sure the insert and hands are as well.

Can someone please explain to me why this watch sold for so much? The dial looks like it has been poorly repainted. Is this a genuine dial that I’ve never seen? The watch is missing its bezel, is in poor condition and god only knows if it’s even running.

People spend stupid money on goodwill's website for reasons I cannot entirely grasp, but I think they are founded in the idea that if they come from a donation or estate, they must be legit. Tragic. EDIT: This is a $300 watch with box... $500 if proven working and on it's best day on ebay. I hope it lights up for the new owner, $730 later.... At least not a Feiko shopgoodwill.com/item/195948380
