Here's mine as well. Just got it today. The dial is a deep black which somehow does not show up on photos Do you love the bracelet?

Surprised how much I like it. Nicer fit and finish IMO then the other Seiko entry level prospex/5 stuff. Maybe best Seiko bracelet I’ve seen in a very long time. Two way friction bezel which is nice for the alignment mafia like me. SBSA23 with kanji, made in Japan dial and caseback. Very low serial.

I noticed it is no longer Uncle Seiko.... Just Uncle now. When you do it as well and as good and as long as Larry you can change your name to anything.
I wonder if Seiko asked nicely?

Is every current watch in Seiko’s Peospex lineup some form of “recreation”?
I think history will look back on this era as the most creative-less era in watch design.

At that price so many other things I would opt for.

Congrats!! Love it.
Are you sure you want to swap out that bezel and screws? It looks killer just the way it is.

I got confused on this point as well. It's tough to determine how the JDM watches will be differentiated from the ROW, assuming there is some differentiation as the adverts specifically mention 1300 JDM pieces included in the overall 15,555 It appears it is just the dial and caseback. That's assuming the renderings are accurate.

I could be wrong, but from what I can glean from t’interweb the 1,300 SBSA223 units are a part of the overall 15,555 units, so not a separately numbered LE. That is my understanding also

I also ordered the SBSA223. I'm hoping for a Kanji day wheel. I love the fact it’s not in a SKX case - and from the 55th Anniversary website this appears to be the only Commemorative model with a non SKX case. Under $300 so I figured I'd take a flyer. I must be missing something. What is the difference between the SBSA223 and SRPK17? SBSA223 is “limited” to 1300 units and available July 8th. SRPK is “limited” to the rest. (Something like that 15555 I believe total number). I believe these are a September release. Appears the SBSA has the “made in Japan” text on dial. SRPK does not. Other than that I assume nothing is different. Maybe day wheel but I haven’t seen that confirmed.

I was taking stock of my Seiko stable yesterday and it occurred to me that clearly I am focusing on 1980-2000s. Not consciously but certainly it reflects in my acquired watches.
Pre 80 is kinda (for me) a giant pain in the ass to get service. I do have a few beautiful chronos that from the 6139/8 era that obviously are outstanding.
The modern Seiko stuff is (again, for me) overpriced and souless.
So what am I - I'm not a vintage guy and I'm not a modern guy? I feel that those few decades is when Seiko was really capturing a lifestyle and staying in it's lane.
