What do you think? What does every Seiko collector/hobbyist need in their collection?

A collection without a 6309 just isn't a collection IMO

Argument could be made for many Seikos, but I'm with Dad, the 6309 diver is the linchpin of a collection.

Yes, I agree...that certainly seems to be the obvious answer IMO.

That doesn't hold true for female collectors. They're way too big for us. But... "If" they made a much smaller version...
I don't have any one specific Seiko in my collection that is my Holy Grail.

I have some particular bias on this subject as you can see from my profile pic - but IMO a Seiko collection is better off with a 007 in the mix.

I do have a 4205 midsize and a 7002-7039 which I wear occasionally.

Not a very nice example, but I picked one up for my wife a while back. The crown is slippery, and makes it a bit of a pain in the ass to set the time.

Setting some of the watches is one of my gripes. I have a Yema that is almost impossible for me to set. My 4205-015 Are there no preview options in Proboards?

I very nearly got a pepsi version for my wife, I think its a great looking little watch, wouldn't mind one in a mens size. The skx gets my vote for the must have.

I'd say a 6309-704x and a 6139-6000x would be the place to start on the vintage side. Add in a SKX007/009 and a one of the current SARB alpinist models and you'd have a great representation with four pieces.

For me . . . it would have to be the Seiko that got me hooked . . . the 6139-60XX: You're all probably sick of seeing it but I don't:

Another option is the seiko 2625 ladies divers. Same case as the 2205 auto divers but with a quartz movt. The markers are gilded and would be a perfect matched pair to the vintage marine master series I picked up a mint specimen for my wife a couple years ago. Here's a photo .... Not hers but is identical otherwise Best Shawn
