When I was a senior in high school you could buy a VW beetle for $3000. I suppose if a "Panda" can go for $600 used, a limited reissue would sell for a lot. I'll stick to finding the vintage watches.

I agree with what you write .... but exactly the opposite. Buy now a new Volkswagen, wait 10 years, and then tell me if it's worth more than that of when you were in high school.

I did. And as far as VW's go, they're a great deal. I got mine for $20,000. That's roughly a 7x increase over 40 years. But I bought my 6105 for under a hundred and I'll bet I could easily get 1200 for it if not much more. So if the issue is watches, seeing a panda go for 6x the original cost isn't all that far out there in adjusted currency. $3000 seems a lot, but I can see how it being limited and modern could command that considering the amazing prices some of the non-Seiko watches can get. But, I'd be far more inclined to pay 1500 for an original than a reissue that will be obscure in another 5 years.

I bailed out at £1100, but prices now on eBay for vintage divers is off the scale. If it was serviced and fully operational then I can understand a high price, but it wasn't.

Yeah, I was watching that one too. Sounds like it's just in need of a service. The seller would be very happy with the price achieved.

Just had a call back from Jura watches here in the UK, telling me their price for the SLA017 is £3750 and they're taking deposits of £500

Guys don't flame me but today I visted a Tudor AD and could not resist a Gen 1 Black Bay with red bezel so that means my 62MAS ReIssue budget is shot. I am selling off the vintage vault and who knows but I gotta say I am getting less enamored about it the more I learn. I am put off by the total of 4,000 units. That makes a mockery of the term "Limited Edition' as far that goes.
So what could be next - another 2,000 units with a new SXXYYY model number but this time on a NATO? I'm not out yet but my desire is waning and I am no longer gung-ho all in either.

Oooh, what's in the vintage vault HiBeat? Is the new Tudor going to be in tomorrow's WRUW? Don't leave us, those Rolex/Tudor forum guys are no fun with their "is it ok for me to change a strap myself or will that void my warranty?" questions.

Awesome watch honest.I would love to see the bronze version, particularly one with a years aging. My Rolex sub is a 1978 model and does get worn a couple of days a month.I wear a revue Thommen sub homage with a red bezel quite a lot - awesome look gets more comment that the Rolex.Cheers Phil

It's a bit frightening what they reach now. I was not so lucky to get one for 300 US, but still moderately priced and in better shape than that one (well, except for my red-painted second hand, of course ). Now I am reluctant to take it out of the watch box, as it is apparently worth a lot more than I paid...

I reached out to Joe Kirk to settle the production volume question and he confirmed that there will be 2000 units total, not 2000 SLA017 and 2000 SBDX019.
It is possible that he is misinformed, but highly unlikely.
No messaging from Seilo has ever been other than 2000 pieces.
Maybe Anthony can share his source for the 4000 total unit report.

Im sorry Im now confused..... Isn't SLA017 the ref # of the new 62MAS resissue? What is SBDX019?
