Today our World Traveler is visiting some rather loud and prolific cousins... if you can find him in there.

I think it's safe to say you've collected a concert choir chorus of bellmatics dapellegrini B-5!

Ha, excellent. Per my latest count, there are at least 34 different dial codes and 76 different dials if we include color variants, in the Bell-matic range. Compare that with 8 dial codes in the World Timer line, with 16 different dials when breaking out colors. I've documented evolution of the World Timer dial here, with examples of each variation/color: seikoworldtime.com/articles/Dial-Changes-Over-The-Years

Great photos. I really enjoyed reading through this and sharing your experiences. Do you only collect Bellmatics?

Thanks Pete! Stay tuned - this watch will soon be with inboost for a complete overhaul, and then will carry on around the world - with each stop photo documented in this thread. I do have a lot of bell-matics, don't I? I think I'm up to about 45, not counting parts watches and whatever is in the mail. I also have around 50 Seiko World Timers, and then another 50 "other" Seikos of just about every kind/type. I also have a bunch of Swiss watches, plus some German and Russian manufactures... If I recall correctly you have an orange Doxa, a lot like mine, right: wristsushi.proboards.com/post/258650/thread

I figured today was a good time to drop by the AZ Cardinal’s Stadium, where Super Bowl LVII will be played on Sunday. For this outing, we jumped in the electric car and headed out before the end of the work day... Hello to UPS on the way out of the neighborhood - we may be seeing more of you soon… Onto the freeway, then off at Glendale Ave, stadium just visible there in the blurry distance From there, we found our way to Cardinal’s Way, lots of security, fire trucks etc And that’s the stadium in the blurry distance Westgate mall and the Coyotes Hockey Arena is right next door. They are setting up some kind of outdoor concert venue: Back around the side of the Hockey Arena to head over to the Football stadium and we were greeted by fireworks and an Air Force fly over - obviously they are practicing timing either for the National Anthem or Halftime, or both Everything around the stadium is fenced off and under construction We decided to try and walk around to the south side of the Stadium where they main entrance is, with the Super Bowl logo etc - it was a long walk, and there were no really good photo ops. This was as good as we got before being chased off by security On the way out, I was able to get a couple good shots while merging back onto the freeway

You would not believe how much effort went into getting this family photo together. We have representation from each decade here, 1960-2020 (or we might have missed with 2019 as the youngest)... Some might be slouching, or blinking during the photo and the back row lighting was not ideal. Twins/triplets were asked to sit out, so we have no dups in here... EXCEPT for our World Traveller... He sat in for the SGP 6117-6409 that I have not yet sourced, and right next to a twin... - At the back / top row we have our mechanical world timers, 1964 - 1976
- Row two are the digitals that replaced them, 1977-1982 or so, the PAN-AM, the ALARM and the ATLAS
- Row three, more digitals, 1982-1988 on the left side, the TWA, FRANKENSTEIN and JOHN CLEESE. On the right we have some early 5T52's including an original Age of Discovery. At the far end of this row is a Laurel World Timer - this whole group from 1989-199?
- And up front / bottom row some of the later 5T52's from 2000-2005 or so, then the 5T82's from the 2010's, and a Solar V190 from around 2020
EDIT: A few notes on the family members that did not make this photo. From the top row, we are missing a 6217-7010 with silver dial and lume spots, an SGP 6117-6409, and two 6117-6400's (black and white dial version) that did not have lume. Among the digitals, the we are just missing the SGP A358-5000. After that, who knows? I am not yet sure just how many 5T52's there were, but I know I don't have enough fingers to count them on.

Often I feel like collecting 'an item' gets pretty stale in that while all members are technically different, visually it's not often discernible. To the uneducated they just all look the same. Then dapellegrini steps in with this monumental 'World time' collection. What a wonderful variegation of the concept of time zone tracking that Seiko has developed. And here perhaps as has never been done before, is a time traveler's catalog of that concept. It's really an amazing collection, and I love looking it over from afar. thanks for sharing dapellegrini!

That World Traveller is really getting some good time.
The undocumented stories it can tell by the time it boomerangs back from the tour would be interestng.

Just a quick update to let you all know the 6117-6010 World Traveler has arrived at my 'clinic'
He's in desperate need of refurbishment as you can see in these time grapher plots. Rest assured this work has already begun. Full disassembly and cleaning have been completed. Some parts have been ordered as of this morning to cover repair and a little hot-rodding too. I'm going to start a thread over in the Restorations and Walk-Throughs when I get a minute to condense the data and photos taken.
