Yep, the original model is the 6117-8000. This is a reissue due to drop in November. Too bad it is a Limited Edition. Just means it will be $1000 instead of $500...🙄 |

Hmmm, a few years back I picked this up for less than £100 on the bay. They are now fetching big $$$$$ Must wear it more. Yeah, I have 3-4 originals as well. Last one I paid $75 for. I don't wear them much anymore because they got expensive. It looks like Seiko really got this one right. Case is supposed to be 38.5mm, which is close to the original. |

A Japanese cloud passing over the Japanese Mount Fuji and shading the Japanese sun on a Japanese fall day. Did we mention this watch is totally Japanese? |

I don't want or need one. What I want is for it to be 1:1 case with 19mm lugs and a reasonable price to pickup the bracelet to mount on my 55 yr old og 6117-8000!

I was pretty sure I did't want one of these... but then read a review, checked some more press photos, and ended up putting a deposit down for one - supposed to ship in Nov. I quite like these "faithful" reproductions that Seiko is turning out lately and happy to support them in that endeavor.
Now, I wish they would do proper re-editions for their 1964 olympic watches, the mono pusher, the world timer, and the lap counter - 2024 will be 60 years! I suppose it will also be 55 years since the first 6139-6000, and they seem keen on that number (does it have significance in Japanese culture?)...

You too can have the shithouse performance of a 7S26 movement at a 2.5k aussie peso premium!
If it was about 800 to maybe 1k aussie pesos I'd be in.
