This hobby drives you to drink I can tell you! Finally got round to using/sampling my Christmas and birthday presents from my niece and nephew. The glasses and paddle were for Christmas, the beer for my birthday. Cheers Those look quite inviting! The Dead Pony and Sam Saint beckon to me the most. What types of beer are those two? Cool paddle BTW Thanks Pete! The Dead Pony Club is a "session pale ale" at 3.8% ABV and the 5AM Saint is an American red ale at 5% ABV. I'm on my third of four, but I have to say at the moment the Jack Hammer at 7.2% ABV is my favourite so far! Really cool presents to get - they certainly know me!

I finally set out to purposely pick up some Leff blond having past it by before, only to find the local outlet doesn't handle this. I ended up with a brunette Czech instead of a Belgian blond. At least the curtains match the carpet .

Well I went to a wedding yesterday where the ceremony and the after party and meal were held at a local bar. www.facebook.com/magellanswaukesha/They had flat screen TV's on the wall that had a scrolling list of the microbrews they had on tap along with a description about each beer and the ABV. Unfortunately it wasn't an open bar (go figure) so I couldn't try them all. But you did get your first drink free so I tried this one. Very nice but I am sure it would get rather pricey if you were pounding a bunch of them back. www.kentuckyale.com/www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/430/18698/

I don't drink bourbon but the beer is delicious (and strong). Even my wife (who is not a beer drinker) liked it when I asked her to take a sip.

There is a place about 5 minutes from where I Live called the Rock and Run Brewery Pub. They have over 30 craft beers that they brew on sight. They also serve really good food. I had two different beers tonight and a Reuben Sandwich. So I got my funk on and had some fun. The FarmHouse Funk... Shamrock Red... The Reuben...

Took me awhile to find your beer thread Pete 😥 So i decided to clink on your profile to see what it is. Anyway, without further ado, lets start with a beer good for any sushi. A draft Kirin... When I'm trying to relax my mind I tend to indulge myself by drinking dark beer like castle and Guinness [U RL=http://s1242.photobucket.com/user/toughcarbon/media/IMG_3759_ [/URL] And of course with every occasion I just drink this..

Out table was set for the tasting We started with a special 'sour' that the gentleman with the white hair and beard brought. Sam on the left and another Peter on the right. Gerry on the lft(he brought the 'sour' and a Parallel 49 Barrel aged Brandy Wine Stout.Center of the picture is Hal who brought the Grand Reserve 17. Top right is Clive and Sam enjoying his 'sour'. The bottle with the gold foil and the four with red waxed tops were all from Driftwood Brewery in Victoria B.C. representing Barley Wines from 2010, 2012, 2014, 2016 and Brandy Wine from 2015. A collection of goodness. The highlight of the evening This was the main course;pickled beets, corn relish, New York strip, Rib-eye broccoli and a special roasted potato. There was so much food that it was hard to eat it all! The restaurant presented us with a complimentary dessert of cherry flavoured fudge topped with whipped cream. We added a special Belgian Kirsch beer from Kasteel It was a great evening and because the beer is all natural...no hangover 7dfe79adc2f0

I'm a big fan of barley wine style beer. They tend to be strong so I drink cautiously!

Does that say 17% ABV I think it's 11%. That would make more sense. I'd love to try it if I could find it.

PBR me, ASAP! I've noticed that PBR is very popular with the "hipster" crowd. I haven't had it in so many years, I can't remember what it tastes like.
