I missed a few auctions this week, but did pull in this item below. Sold has "1/2 dead" but the analog side was working, just gluey. It was here all of a few hours before the missus claimed it.

Due to the Holiday and other expenditures this month I am broke! Not expecting anything at all except for an AM dial and a used 6309-7040 bezel insert I was lucky enough able to buy!

I thought about that one, but didn't fancy the global shipping import charges to the UK. I'm sure it will be a simple fix and is in much better than usual condition. I have a few watches incoming, but this arrived yesterday and I'm very pleased with it: I've already adjusted two of my 6139's.

I have a few watches incoming, but this arrived yesterday and I'm very pleased with it: I've already adjusted two of my 6139's. A timegrapher is just wonderful. The H556 was good but had been abused just a bit. After Sabrina claimed it (and after I thought I was done working on watches for the day), I went back to the bench to go over it. Someone didn't know how to get the caseback off and messed up things a bit. Internally it was fine. One pivot under the dial had gathered moisture and had corroded - a tiny pinhead's worth of green grot - and that was enough to stop the analog side. I had to do a train servicing but the rest was OK. Watch was totally original otherwise, just super dirty.

I bought this in the week: its a H556-5060. Sold as defective, but there was some life in there I've got a couple of the H556-5050 'Burkes' and I do like this movement and styling. It needs a new crystal (already purchased) and a new dial - I was hoping the damage shown might clean up but its gone right through to the plate and will bring the dial finish off if I try to clean it. The hands were slightly bent (from being exposed due to the missing crystal) but can be straightened. All that said, the movement looks good and will definitely run again :-)

It was a very good week. E-prey has been good to me. A 6309-7049 perfect dial and handset ($57) and a SKX007 head only, non -runner ,for parts, which arrived in perfect condition and running spot on for the past 3 days ($50)

Just got the new leather strap from George in Greece and it is great! Will take the sarb017 to my watchmaker to remove the bracelet,as it is a very tight fit and don't want to scratch up the lugs. I think I will order more straps in the future from him. Took 7 days with EMS.
