I just grabbed this, Angus & Coote here in Australia have a limited stock on sale for ($399) 1/2 retail price, or less if you are a good talker. Is that 399 in Australian dollars? Even in US Dollars that's a nice score!
I like the Chinese day wheel.
I have my PADI on a jubilee from StrapCode. It really dresses it up in case you were thinking of a bracelet change.
Congrats.

Yep $399 Oz, I though it was a great deal. I've seen them for slightly less (converted into OZ $) in the US and Singapore but with postage and added GST the price blew out to be $50-70oz more. Happy with it and I never thought I'd buy one as they never really tick all the boxes for me, but at that price...

With the bay and other auctions now loaded with fakes or watches with dubious parts at ever increasing prices I again have opted for something peps are less interested in yet I can tinker with. An SPB001 which again has the 6R20A movement. You might have seen the SPB003 recently serviced. So after some haggling I have this in USPS transit. There was only one other floating and it was in the UK but the seller could not take the time to reply to my messages and when they did the price was still high for what was on offer. This one comes in very good condition, with original packaging and paperwork but from the USA. I liked the large baton markers. Just collected it from Parcelforce so 12 days was excellent, Ohio USA to Hampshire UK. Lot on today so more tomorrow. Lot on early tomorrow as well so later tomorrow.

I have decided that for my 60th in November I will get an Orient 60th anniversary classic instead of the Speedy pro. My current situation won't allow it. A well known Malaysian Orient dealer is sending me one NIB.

I was looking for 4S15 watches on eBay and came across these. The sellers pictures suck and I will have around a month wait to get them. I had no idea that Seiko sold their 4S15 to another company. I knew the Yema Seaspider had it, but it was under Seiko at that time. GSX doesn’t really have watches that I find attractive, but when I saw the 4s15 in these I decided I could live with the looks. Anyways, I bought them both. Is that label a surfboard, are these surf watches?

Incoming SBCM029 8F35 diver with orange dial. This is at 38mm so would fit my wrist better than the SKX011, and I've grown to like the perpetual calendar feature that makes it easy to pick up and go. It will complete my 8F35 diver collection, joining the black and pepsi variants. Will post a family picture when it arrives... Sellers pic:

I was contemplating to mod a SKX009 with the PADI dial and handset to get a similar look in a smaller package. (Small wrist problems...)

Not picked up anything new to the collection for a few months but this arrived today: An early example of the 3823-7000 with the pre-vfa dial. Where these a cream dial originally? Or a white? I suspect that this one has had a bit of UV exposure over the years but I'm just pleased to have one.

Tucked away in a lot of Timex watches was the awesome Ollech & Wajs diver that takes an EB 8021 movement. Outside of the crystal it’s in amazing condition. Those that know O&W can appreciate this score. It’s my third 70’s O&W.
My photos.
Here’s the lot of Timex. I have cleaned the cases and all the DNA on the bracelets with an ultrasonic bath. Next is Polywatch on the crystals and fresh batteries I got for $1 a piece. I’ll list them as a group and recover some of the cost on the O&W.

That Dynabeat is awesome! Thanks! I’m waiting for my battery. When I move the balance the watch ticks. The case back is polished. When reassembled I’ll polish the case. A little wear but should clean up nicely. Crystal will look a bit better but could use a replacement. They were COVERED in years of DNA and gunk. It was rather gross. Some of it calcified on the case and bracelet and cracked off with a razor blade.

I’ve always loved them from the start of my collecting days. This is number 3 for me, 2 of which need servicing but I couldn’t pass them by given how cheap they were.

I really like a watch with a bold, easy to read dial and this definitely falls into that category. I am currently working out of town, so this will be waiting on me when I get back to the office next Sunday.

A well known Malaysian Orient dealer is sending me one NIB. Are you sure Yeah mate, inbound as we speak, 0028 of 1500 LE manual wind movement with 21 jewels, 22 karat gold electro plated to 4 microns, I think for my 60th this is a special watch indeed. I come from the generation that wanted a gold watch on retirement so I think it's great. It's also special because the first watch I bought for my wife was a gold plated orient manual wind for her 16th birthday long before we were married, in fact she had just left school. We are High School sweethearts. She is still my wife and she still owns the watch and it still works. I bought it for $64 in 1980 in an Orient AD in Nundah. He sold me on Orient over Seiko and Citizen.
