I'd love to get the opinion of other Seiko junkies. I have a 6105-8000 in amazing, all original condition. I have this fear (irrational?) of wearing it. I'm constantly afraid I'll damage or break it. I've seen many 6105's on eBay and forums, and it seems mine is in impeccable shape. This only adds to my fear. I'd hate to ruin something truly special. My biggest fear being that I somehow jar it and ruin the gorgeous lume. Maybe that's not even a risk and I'm just being crazy. Thoughts? So, my question is this. If you guys owned it, would you wear it? Here are some pics! i.imgur.com/90EBHSe.jpgi.imgur.com/IUOVsKH.jpgi.imgur.com/wb3bM8l.jpgi.imgur.com/K4quhBV.jpg

That surely is a very beautiful watch! I say wear it and enjoy its beauty, just be mindful and try not to scrape or bang it against anything.

During the winter, I would only wear it with sweaters so it had a bit more protection. Ha ha. Funny thing is, I have two very nice 6138 Bullheads (brown and black) that I wear all the time, without much worry. Not sure why the 6105 makes me so much more paranoid...

Definitely a huge risk and you should sell and buy a watch which doesn't bother you as much. PM with asking price I never get too bothered about anything I might do to my own watches - it's part of owning them. I wear mine:

Holy moly!!! Those are all original as well, correct? Beautiful! Yep, down to the straps, and thanks! I wasn't trying to just show off - hoping to motivate you to wear yours - these have been out of the box a lot. It's not like they're pearls on a thin silk strand - these divers are lumps of steel and hardened glass - they can take a little wear. Gorgeous -8000 BTW - hope to see it around. Also guessing there are some nice siblings!

Imho there is no watch in this world that should not be worn. A watch in a box is like a nice car in a garage: useless! And a Seiko can a whole lot of action without a risk of damage. Go for it and wear that Beauty!

I had it fully serviced, relumed and waterproofed to original specs as to be able to add another 40+ years of my stories. I say wear it and fully enjoy it, here it is on NOS tropic, Cheers Attachments:

I wear my 6105's in the workshop all the time. You just have to take them off and stick them in your pocket or handbag when your doing something that'll put them at risk. As Florian said these were made to be worn and should be. It's not like they are a George Daniels or the like! I have a ex NOS 6139-0030 which I wear a lot. Even has the blue protective film on the case back. I just treat it as a new watch rather than NOS. Just buy a NOS crystal off Stefan or evilBay and put it away when you see one come up just in case.
Enjoy!

A watch unworn is devoid of purpose. That is 100% true....and normally I don't get hung up on "not breaking" my vintage watches. This one just has be flustered. Ha ha.

You should absolutely wear it! I get no pleasure from safe queens, both mine get worn regularly.

Beautiful 6105-8000. I'd wear that bad boy daily.
Where on earth do you guys find these pristine examples? I do have one incoming, but it looks like it's been through the war already. Which is fine with me, but I certainly would like to come across one of these minty ones!

Which is fine with me, but I certainly would like to come across one of these minty ones! I found mine at a pawn shop in its current condition! I actually sent pictures to Seikoholic asking him if I should buy it for $300. I actually left the shop without it. He sent a hilarious email back to me, basically saying to drive back as fast as possible and buy it. I'm assuming someone inherited it and thought "meh, a Seiko isn't worth keeping" and sold it to the pawn shop for next to nothing. Lucky day for me! :-) I did have to have Spencer do a little work to the movement. It was losing time, but appearance wise, its always been in great shape. Now the movement is in just as great of shape, thanks to him!
