On one of the coin forums they have a project going to get people to spend dollar coins and half dollars which I do whenever possible. So far as a collective we have spent around $56K in halves and dollar coins.
I would keep the wheat cents, the silver quarter, the Peace dollar, and the Ikes. I would check the 1979P SBA dollars for the wide rim variety and spend the rest.
Explain please.
Take a look at the 1979 and a 1980 or 1981.
On the 1979 the space between the date and the rim is a greater than on the 1980 and 1981.
There was a batch of 1979P that used the 1980 / 1981 rim design.

24 of the 26 are 1979, the other two are 1980. All the 79's, appear to be the same.

Pulled this pair of Double D's from a box today. I found the 1938D before work and finished the box off after work and in the second from last roll was the 1939D Now if only it was a 1938S I'd be done. The 1938D is a $3 coin and the 1939D is a $10-$20 coin depending if it grades XF or AU. If only the 1938D was an S then my set would be complete EDIT: not much of an upgrade from my previous hoelefillers I found previously. One plus side I now have 2 decent $3 nickels and 2 decent $10-20 nickels

This one just came today after months of waiting and now it will have to go back.
There is some type of planchet flaw divot in it which pisses me off because these are selling for $750 plus on EBAY right now and I could have made a quick $350 before the market gets flooded with more from the same batch mine came from.

Had a wonderful Friday First one of my Friday BMO dump banks told me they were going to start charging me to dump. Then I go and pick up my 4 boxes from a different BMO branch and open one of them up and it is short 5 rolls and a 6th roll is broken off at the end and has maybe $8 in it. Lost $52 so far and the day isn't even over yet.

4 boxes today. Finally got a decent score. All boxes had at least 1 silver. Box 1 had 2 enders. 7 40%ers and 2 Walkers including a beautiful 1942 Box 2 had 1 40%er and a silver plated 1976. Box 3 had a 1971D ender that looked like dirty silver and I thought jackpot especially since all my finds always seem to be roller damaged enders so why should this one be any different [**] Turns out it wasn't silver but in the roll was a bent and bb gunned Franklin. Ended up with 5 40%ers, a Franklin, and a Walker Box 4 had 6 40%ers and 2 Franklins.

Nice score, what exactly is an "ender"?

Nice score, what exactly is an "ender"? The coin on the end of a roll. For halves there are 50 rolls per box so 100 enders. There are 1000 coins per box. The average silver find is 1 per box. So the odds that a silver will be at the end of a roll are about the same as winning the lottery so if you see 1 ender the odds are good that there is more than 1 silver in the box and the more enders you see you are almost guaranteed that there are whole lot more in the middle of the roll that you don't see. I have only had 2 or 3 boxes (out of 5000 plus boxes) that had 1 ender and that was the only silver in the box. A lot of times an ender is hiding in plain sight and you have to be a seasoned veteran to spot one when they show up. Unfortunately ender coins are usually damaged by the rollers that wrap the coins and they have a circular scratch on them. PS: 5000 boxes of halves is $2.5 million

You don't have to re-roll all the coins you go through, do you? I don't know of any banks in my area, that will even take coins in bulk anymore. I remember when I was young, the banks always had one of those machines they poured your coins into...not anymore.

I rerolled my first box and they said they wouldn't take them. I had to unroll them all over again so they could feed them through the coin machine. Getting ready to dump this box on Sears, Roebuck, & CO next week I found a few president NIFC and 2 holes fillers and a 2003D Sac hole filler. Also got stuck with another Canuckistanian Peso

Unfortunately silver took a 60 cent hit today and my guy who buys my stuff off of me has been out of town for the last month when silver was up a buck higher than now. It's still $200 worth of silver but the 2 crappy clad halves I found last month are worth twice as much and I got them graded for free (after postage and processing)

I don't think we'll see $50 til Queen Hillary gets voted in by the free hand out welfare recips and the suburban hippies blind to the real world in 2016.

If silver doesn't hit $50 by years end 2014 then I owe you a one once silver eagle. If it does then you own me one.
