Your knowledge of coins is amazing, I never knew there were so many variations out there.

I got this in a handful of change this morning... On the face of the rim it is stamped with E PLURIBUS UNUM ********** 2011 D On the right(facing) shoulder it has my initials I've never seen one of these before. Is it commonly seen in the US? Does the D denote Denver minting or does the PH denote Philadelphia minting or like the DE beneath Lady Justice's left hand indicate the initials of the image sculptors? This coin is worth $1.09437 at the Canadian cash register

D is Denver mint and P is Philadelphia. The DE on the reverse are the designers initials.
Not sure about "common" but whenever I buy anything locally I pay cash and use halves and dollar coins to pay for it. I spent 13 of them at Walmart this morning.
I dumped 1000 of those on Sears roebuck & Co last month paying off the credit card bill for the parts I had to order for my truck.

Well, with a stock pile of over 1.4 billion of these things, it's difficult to call them rare, scarce or even uncommon. I had just never seen one before.

Those Loonies are only worth 93 cents in your neck of the woods...you got ripped

As you can see in the pic they don't weather well after a year or 2 in circulation.
I picked this up tonight at the monthly coin club meeting and I have to give Canada credit for making a reverse proof bullion coin which sells for less (based on silver content) than a standard finish bullion Silver Eagle.
And the 1 1/2 ounce and $8 face and .9999 to try to trump us look out.
We have the 5oz silver ATB which I really need to lay off of since face on it is only 25 cents
If you really want to go overboard you would need the polished prooflike bullion issues and the P matte finish limited to 25K each.
The Mount Rushmore sold out in 6 days. KEY.
The Smokey Mountains also sold out in a week.
I've been to both so I hade to jump on them.
Only a few of mine.
When the apocalypse hits 1 oz will be more versatile (like a $20) than a 5 oz would be (like 1 $100 always asking for change)
You can pick up rounds and bars for as low as 79 cents over melt if you buy right.
Quarter, half, dollar, and 5 oz.
An early on stacker photo (you would need 3D to see how high the stacks are)
I still keep all of my Walkers and Franklins but will trade off my Kennedy's.

Bought a lottery ticket with the Garfield dollar But when I was rummaging around in my pocket, I came up with 5 quarters(25 cent coins )... The top left is the normal one we see most of the time. The one to the right of it and the one below it are commemoratives from the 2010 Winter Olympics. But the interesting ones are the two on the right. One recognizes Isaac Brock who managed to repulse all of the American attempts to 'take' Upper Canada during the War of 1812. The other commemorates Charles-Michel d'Irumberry de Salaberry who successfully repelled American attempts to take Montreal in lower Canada during the War of 1812. Somewhere I read that this was only possible because Washington(the US government at the time had worked out s deal with a Canadian business man and held back the troops that surely would have taken both Upper and Lower Canada). So, as it is today, commerce rules in wars and territories. Religion and politics are nothing more than distractions. For what it's worth, I have only ever seen the regular coin and the bobsled one. The others are new to me.

I spent 8 hours today trying to sort through all of the set aside bags and piles and such of coins for further analysis on my sorting table looking for any upgrades or varieties. I managed to upgrade 2 nickels. After going through 700 wheat cents I have found since last time I still can't find 1 out of the 74 million 1954P cents I still need a 1990 Canadian cent which I can't find. 218 million minted. I have a bag of 500 to go through and I better find one damnit. I still have to find time to counter stamp and dump the $800 in NIFC and UNC 1983 halves to free up some funds.

It's going to be more difficult to find Canadian pennies now that they are no longer in use! I'll check the few I have laying around.

I went through my bag of Canadian cents and you guessed it, no 1990 I did fill a few holes from the 1940's and 2003P no crown. If you got em I need 1921-1925, 1927-1931, 1933-1939, 1948-1949,1954, and few of the 2000's in steel, and a few of the P's.

I think 1975 was the oldest.

4 boxes today. 3 skunks but the last box had 12 40%ers. I found more silver last Friday than I did all last month. Todays haul is going to get me back to my monthly norm for this time of year.
