Very nice. I had a few NOS watches including the first GS but I ended up selling them as that blue protective sticker became the thing of nightmares! Why is a blue sticker anything but a good thing?

Don't think I posted this but then I don't even know what day it is.... From HK so has a short bracelet but I have a spare. Needs a new crystal. Digital works but fades sometimes. The analogue doesn't currently work and it's EFFING FILTHY ! Should be a fun project. Always wanted an orange Giugiaro.

Arnie.. Henry Very nice. I had a few NOS watches including the first GS but I ended up selling them as that blue protective sticker became the thing of nightmares! Welcome back. I didn't expect to see your handle again, Tony.

I never really went anywhere. I've just been spending a lot of time looking after a ill parent. I stopped dealing in the Seiko's after the Brexit thing as it killed off foreign markets to me due to the weak pound. UK watches tend to be crap as us Brits apparently cannot look after shit. Nice to see you guys still here too. Adicts each and every one of you!

Two heads are better than one. The story starts with my attempts to purchase another 6119 on the bay. I came a cross a listing for a load of watches bundled together with a starting price of £5. It had no bids. All the pictures were very poor but clear enough to make out one was a 6119-8040. I messaged the seller to ask if I could make an offer for that watch only. I threw in £30 to start which was declined. Half hour later seller messages me to make another offer. I message back asking for clear pics before I went higher. Four further pics were sent but again all very poor quality. I noticed at this time the original listing had been modified and that any picture showing this watch had been removed. Hmmmm, I sensed a game starting. From the additional pics I could make out the paint loss on the very outside of the dial near the crystal tension ring. I asked seller to confirm what it was. Seller messaged back....slight silvering of the dial. So it was paint loss. While I was slightly put off it might be a good donor watch so I then asked for a sharp picture of the case back. Seller messaged back...unable to message more pics as ebay states too many messages for this listing. I then tried to convey my email address using photographs but he said it did not work. Then seller says...I have added pics requested to the original listing which had sufficient pic space. By the time I had opened up the listing someone had obviously clocked the 6119 case back and placed a £5 bid (an auction spoiler). So that was the end of my attempts to buy that 6119. Almost immediately I downed tools on it, another favorable 6119 appeared with offers. The sellers description stated the crystal was totally crazed so I gambled on the blue dial being fine and threw in a quick offer. Within 15 minutes click ding...Offer Accepted. I have another but with gold plated case, cream dial, gold batons and dophine hands. This is it. I like blue dials.

Date drive wheel from Cousins. Can't wait to get watch running again! Also coming: a loupe, oiler, brass tweezers. Oh and also these. I mainly bought them for Otron. The watch is from the 70's and made in Korea. Supposedly high quality build, sporting two batteries with a solar assistance. As far as I know, the accuracy should be -/+ 5 s per month. Other watches are extra.

A quick purchase for only $13.08! Seller said it is not working and for parts. Reality is, it needs 2 to 4 minutes in direct sunlight to wake it up and a good 3 days or so to fully charge. These things are bullet proof and would have to suffer catastrophic damage to stop working. Should be fun to disassemble, clean up and place in the collection. Replacement bezels are abundant and super cheap.

Well, my fix for the deformed nylon daywheel changeover gear in my locally-purchased '81 Pulsar Y563 didn't work for long. Since I can't seem to find this part a la carte anywhere, the only solution was to find a donor watch.
It was $12.50.

I saw this SNE107 case pop up on the auction site, and had been eyeing it for a while. It is a really different looking watch, and I find myself really drawn to it. The seller made me a weak offer, but accepted what I thought was a fair price. I will not be using the solar dial or movement. After finding the solar movement is available at several suppliers, I may restore this one instead of going full custom. Next on the wish list: Seiko bottle cap, and orange monster. here's onen that i did, i gave it to my son, it's probably lost in the woods somewhere by now
