I haven't bought anything in quite a while, so I figured it was time to treat myself. I found this JDM '88 7C43-7010 200m Pro on YJ for a very fair opening bid, and I was the only bidder.
I love the white outlined hands and toning of the lume on this one. I have a few of the smaller 7c43s, but this one is my first 'full size'.
[Product condition] Used products ・ We have not confirmed the operation after replacing the batteries. Since it is a used product, there may be scratches or usability, so please understand. * Operation has not been confirmed, so if maintenance is required, you will need to repair it yourself.
This one arrived yesterday. When I bid on it the seller's description (above) left me a little confused. Maybe in Japanese it is perfectly clear, but as near as I could tell Google Translate had left me with two possibilities:
- The seller replaced the battery and the watch did not work. - The seller had not replaced the battery and didn't know if the watch worked.
I decided that $225 was pretty cheap for a 7C43-7010 in this condition even if it needed repair, plus I have a running 7C43A in reserve anyway just in case the movement was a dumpster fire. So I put in what turned out to be the only bid. When I pulled the back off and removed the magnetic shield I saw what looked to be a pretty recent Sony battery and a very clean movement. Hmmm. Took the battery out, put it in my battery tester, aannnd...
It was flat as a board. Good sign! Pretty slim chance the seller removes the old battery, tries a new one, discovers the watch is dead, removes the new battery, and re-installs the old one.
I popped in a new Maxell SR927 and the watch fired right up! But since this is a 7C43 I knew I wasn't out of the woods yet. This caliber is known for having a very fragile day/date changeover mechanism, and a premature failure of that part would neatly explain the remarkable cosmetic condition of this 33-year-old watch. Fortunately, I ran the watch through it's paces and it is functioning perfectly.
Resealed it, put it on an SNDA 22mm nylon strap, and here she is...

Aaannnd then immediately after getting a 1988 200m Pro 7C43 I turn right around and buy a fairly rare 1985 200m Pro 7548.
This one doesn't work, but...it is a 7548. Getting it running should be pretty easy.

Citizen JY0000-53E "Skyhawk A-T." Always wanted one but never wanted to spend the money. Would have preferred the titanium model but this one was too good to pass up for the price I paid and the condition it's in. I'm debating on getting a nice quality leather strap for it. Seller described it as "perfect condition" except scratches on the clasp.
Seller pic...

Couldn’t resist this. Needs a a bit of love to bring back to life apparently.
Wow! Just noticed the "23 Jewels" on the dial. I will be really curious to see what is under the hood when you get that one as I was not aware they made this model with the 23 jewel movement.

Always wanted one and negotiated a good price. Seller had new batteries installed by a watchmaker. Indicated that it's never been warn. The buckle still has factory plastic on it so it could be true. Seller bought it at an estate sale where there was a large watch collection for sale. Scratches a long time itch for me for the watch box especially after a slew of King Louis posts.

This 66-7100 from ‘69. Apparently doesn’t wind properly.

6139-6009 export model with notched case, 2 piece chrono hand, Resist dial from November 1969. All original, unpolished, and in wonderful condition. I am purchasing one of HiBeat's "Pogue" crystals to replace the one on this watch to keep it all Seiko. Completes my set of the blue dial 6139-600X's with owning the 6139-6000, 6002, 6005, and now this 6009.

Up early and as they say you buy the dial, hands and take a gamble on the rest. This Le Gant with Seiko Time Corp UT38 movement appeared. Apparently with original box. I did not wait for more pics to be added cos the dial and hands sold it to me. Very 6106 divers. I think its got a few case dink to address but the box is great.
