Thank you for posting.
Yes the discovery of the catalog photo is indeed a historical chapter, but everyone already knew it was a real thing.
Adrian's Dad bought one new. They live in Australia. Most have no doubts as the thread reads.
Myself I saw it on another watch forum so I guess I didn't think to react. We appreciate the post for sure !

It’s all good gents. I didn’t post it for the reaction or attention..... I posted it because it was relevant to the discussion. I will add this tho....this story isn’t over yet. We still have more to learn. We still have the silver dial coloured docs to find, and we still have some connections to be made. It’s no secret that I believe these were SE Asian only release. Sales did drift into Oceania and Australia due to our close proximity to this region. Weather they were officiallly sold through the Australian distributors at the time- ‘Tallerman and Co’ is yet to be determined, but I doubt that. It is more likely they came to our shores via 3rd party wholesale distributors like ‘universal supplies Hong Kong’ ....They are certainly not an Australian only variant as many already know/knew. The so called ‘Aussie Pogue’ and Silver Pogue were produced from the early proof days right through to the end of the 6139 production. Ref numbers include the 6000, 6001 and the most common 6002. Personally, my independent research has led me to believe they were only distributed through Thong Sia (sole distributors) but I’d be happy to see some papers to show other distributors in the region....but I’ve never seen one. To those with a genuine interest in these variants please understand that there is still quite a bit we don’t know. The scientific approach to these questions will likely yield few results mostly due to Seikos record keeping at the time. All we have is the possibility of more catalogue/ advert finds, sales paperwork, talking to people and of course most importantly looking at the watches themselves. By adding this recent find to the discussion I hope to contribute to this in a positive way and highlight the need for more information. At this point in time, this catalogue find is the unequivocal proof that these models were produced by Seiko and that they were produced from the beginning of export production. For me, another chapter is over, but the book is far from being read.

I bought an Aussie Pogue from the original owner who told me he bought it new in Hong Kong. He was an average bloke clearing out his sock drawer. Told me he needed the money. It’s all original and never serviced. I sent to the UK for service to forum member Guy.
I became a member here after the kerfuffle so I never had any reason to doubt it 🤷🏼♂️

This catalogue is a important Ressource, the research continues. I would add, also the 6009 reference being with this configuration. See the Pic of my 1969 resist/resist 6009. Thank you Paul for your Work.🙋👍 Alex

It is definitely not an “Aussie”, but it is an unusual combo.
