The posh green one today to celebrate picking up the keys to the new home park with our purchase finally being completed this morning. It’s an absolute tip at the moment, complete fixer upper. What have we done?!!! 🤣🤣

I’m hoping my newly acquired Aussie Pogue makes it back in time. It’s getting a spruce up for the big day!! I’ve been waiting 6 years to join the club! It’s been worth the wait!

Hey ladies and gentlemen, it's that time of year again! Time to gather up your greats, shine up your sh*tters, polish your Pogues, and erm, alternate your alternatives?
Anyway, Wednesday 16th November (or for our American chums, Wednesday November 16th) will be the sixth ever International Pogue Day. So please show off as many Pogues, or Poguish, watches as you can on that day. If you do the whole social media thing then please use the #internationalpogueday and/or #internationalpogueday2022 so that we can all find your posts easily. I only really do the instagram thing (I'm @pippy by the way) and last year we had many hundreds of people from all round the world take part. Let's see if we can make this thing bigger year on year.
There are some rules: 1. It must be an absolutely true Pogue, ie a yellow/gold 6139-6005 from Sept 1971 with a service minute counter hand. 2. If it's not, it doesn't matter one bit. 3. No snobbery allowed. Hell, I don't have a true Pogue, I don't even have a 6005, and I started IPD! 4. If you don't have a 6005, or a 6002, then any 6139 will do. Or a 6138. Or anything else you fancy, it's just to celebrate the day! 5. Finally: Rules 1 to 4 are optional. Do whatever you want.
Get yourself a nice cup of something and scroll the internet, and just drool over the many beautiful watches you see, and maybe make contact with or just comment on the posts of people you don't know. We all appreciate a compliment from time to time!
Have a lovely day on the 16th! Pip

This one today. It’s the one I didn’t remember buying and was panicking that someone had given it to me to service and I’d forgotten who. Spent some time checking emails and forum messages and WhatsApp and such before finally working out I’d thrown it in a Buyee lot to amortise shipping (as you do) and when it had arrived it had just been put to one side and forgotten about. I’m pleased with how clean it looks to be honest and it’s one of the few watches I have that my son has expressed interest in wearing so that’s a winner.

Like a few of us I have a few, some more bargain basement than others. I’ve got some Swiss chronos that I’ve bought for good prices. Anyway, I’ve decided on this one which came to me a a bonus in a package I bought, the chap threw it in for free as it kept time very poorly and I’d told him I was just starting watch tinkering so he thought it Luke be a good practice piece for me. And it’s still one of my favourite watches. Built on a base level 2824. I was actually gifted the mesh by a very good bloke on another forum too!

This’ll be another outing for Captain Crusty then! Although to be honest I do have quite a lot of beaters, including a few G-Shocks.

If it’s a digital make sure it’s round you say? Actually I’m going to wear this one today. So I managed to hit two of the three goals (I don’t have a Frank Mueller).

And just in time for International Pogue Day which as always is on November 16th! I read through this thread today. I have a sneaking suspicion you might be to blame for initiating International Pogue day. I’m looking forward to it and may have to get a new crystal or polish this one in preparation. I am definitely to blame for IPD Cam, I can’t dodge that accusation! With a lot of help from Jonas since I first came up with the idea it has to be said.

This is one that I was offered by a friend for a very good price a couple of years ago. Trouble is that the dial was badly water damaged. So I paid a watchmaker I know who specialises in dial painting (nobody in our community in case you are wondering who) to redo the dial. He gave me a great price and I gave him the go ahead. He did a very good job. And I have regretted it ever since in some ways. I now have a watch whose dial I know to be incorrect, although it’s not AM, it is the original dial. The reprint of some of the dial text is a little out when you compare to an OEM and it’s missing the small text around six. So I’m happy I’m not trying to pass it off as original. But still. Saying all that, I wouldn’t have worn it at all without the dial being done. Funny world we inhabit isn’t it?

If you delve into the guts of a 7Ax8 you soon realise that it has soul a’plenty.
